Bottom line, it's not a difficult project but you will need to get the vehicle in the air, at least one side at a time, and remove the wheel so you have room, (which you'll need,) to work.
I did mine sitting on the garage floor. Just turned the wheel out of the way.
I also used a hair drier to warm up the plastic to put some curve into it to match the wheel well opening. View attachment 453311

Don: How I wish I had been as smart as you with the heat eye deer, that would have solved things right away.

I'm hoping I can still pull it off but first I have to find some motivation. Seems I'm in a minority here. <smiling>

I just talked to Jason Jaeger about the availability of mud/gravels guards for the 2020 GT500. He is very interested in producing them, but hasn't been able to get his hands on a 2020 GT500.

If anyone is near their shop and would like to get a free set just for letting them checkout your car for 15-20 minutes for an initial fitment, just let Jason know and he will setup a visit.

Jaeger Brothers [email protected]

They are in SE Michigan.

This is an excellent chance at getting a much needed part produced and it would be a great help to the GT500 community.
Earl, thank you! I just send Jason an email.

@Snoopy49,

Earl, I met up with Jason and John Jaeger this afternoon and we had a great time. Turns out they are both huge Mustang fans as well. Jason had a beautiful GT in the garage. Sadly he had to part with a 70 Boss 302 several years ago. Took all the measurements and the 2020 GT500 crowd should have some custom rock guards soon. Will meet back up with them in a few weeks for final fitting and trials before production.

Hope you are enjoying your GT500.

Great news, I am happy to see that someone was able to connect with Jason and get the ball rolling.

Have you heard anything about the rock guards?

Hi Jeff,

Hi Earl,

Jason and I are working on a second prototype at the moment. The first one would get just a little loose at the bottom as there isn't much to grab onto inside the wheel well on the bottom skirt and the bottom of the flap would kick in or out a tad if the flap clasp lost its grip on the aero lip. The top held just fine as that attaches to the wheel well rim, but we are thinking about an option to drill a hole in the flap and there is a pin that can be removed from the aero skirt to insert in the hole on the flap, this will give a secure fit to the flaps. Just waiting for Jason to call me back for another fitting. I think for those that aren't tracking the car, the first option may have been just fine, but this will offer a more secure option for those that worry they may come off under hard driving. Getting closer.

Hi Tom,

I've been testing the second prototype for a couple weeks now and they are working awesome so far. Jason's molding supplier for 15 years, discontinued the molding material and failed to inform them, so they were just recently able to possibly secure another supplier. I will be stopping by to test out those flaps as soon as I get the call. Will let you guys know how that goes as soon as possible.

They make a superior product. That is the direction I will take.

Edited to add:
I have them on all my other Rs. The reason I do is because the other brands have failed and disappointed. As soon as they are available, sign me up. Please keep me updated. I would like to have them the day I pull out of the dealership.

It looks like Jaeger Brothers are taking pre-orders for the new 2020 GT500 Splash Guards. They should be available to order next week.

You can pre-order by sending an e-mail to Jason [email protected]

They attach with 1 pushpin and slide over the wheel well lip and the lower rocker panel, They can be installed or remove in a matter of minutes.

Here are few pictures of the latest prototypes.
