$400 for four pads? I just bought 4 magnetic for $120.

I do like the idea though. Might be a good 3D print project at work soon.

$1,800 for a floor jack?! Even a lo-pro with a 2-stage pump shouldn't be that much... Especially if you can get 1/2 the worklife for 1/8 of the price... just buy two and save 75%.
I buy the best American made tools I can. I make a living with my tools. Plus I buy them once and for life.

I like the rails (Steeda) because the pads were always difficult to position and keep track of. The rails have made it SO easy jacking the car up now. I just had my car on stands for 2 days while I was painting calipers and installing my new Steeda Bumpstops. I just rolled the jack to the middle of each side, jacked that side up, placed both stands at once, let it down and repeated on the other side, EZPZ lovin' it!
What Joe said. I've got Steeda's rails and used them to put her on stands this weekend to paint the calipers. Easy peezy to do.

I installed the rails, but didn't vote just cause I can't compare them as i have never tried the pads.

+1 for Steeda.

As others have said, affordable - easy to install & worth every penny!
+2, installed them and never looked back

I've got the pad and it works great for one wheel at a time, got it to do the calipers..
I like the Steeda rails but don't like adding weight so.... I'll just wait until spring to make up my mind been thinking about the G-Trac brace too..

The newer Steeda rails are lower profile. Less noticeable than my last set of the original Steeda rails I had on my first s550. Very happy with these.
How do I know if mines are the newer ones?

This ...did the same when swapping trans fluid. Easiest time I have ever had putting a car on jack-stands. The Steeda take all of 15min to install (providing you have them pointed in the right direction - personal experience) and are inexpensive.

Just do it.....

I love my jacking rails, nearly zero lost clearance, haven't scraped on anything with them yet, and it was so easy putting them on and using them. Glad I purchased them.

Earlier production rails can be seen from the side, protruding down and could contact speed bumps. Newer rails have a lower profile and are barley noticeable.
Both are great.
TJ@Steeda might chime in with more info but that's really about it.

Jack Stand under rail

Where are you guys putting the jack stands?

I have the original Steeda rails which are great for jacking up the car but my stands have a narrow top I guess and the rail doesn't really seat into the jack stand top so I now place the stands at the pinch welds.

Is it just my stands or have others noticed this?

Post a picture or send me your order number & I can see when your units were ordered. If it was recently, you probably have the newer version.

Best Regards,

TJ

Another vote for Steeda. I did scrape mine on an unusually high speed bump though! That thing was crazy and I had no way of getting around it.
