Which ones are y'all using? Any particular dimensions to look for or stay away from? Brands? Was thinking a $10 amazon special would be sufficient. Is that realistic?

I’ve been using this one I got from Amazon. No problems with it and it has a strong magnet. Twice I forgot to remove it from the rail and did some driving and it stayed on.

I have these but they're a little small. Works good in the front of the car. But the rear of our cars have this notch right by the jacking arrow. The nylon Magnetic pad barely spans the gap and you really have to pay attention to placing it so it doesn't fall into the gap. If it was an inch bigger in diameter it would be great. Ymmv.

I have the bolt-on ones from ZL1 addons on all 4 corners, but IMO it's overkill unless you're doing alot of work on your car. I bought mine because I swap wheels alot at the track.

Speaking of the track, I once left a pair of some cheapo magnetic Amazon ones on a session. Miraculously they were still clinging to the body after all that hard driving, so they stick pretty good.

I appreciate all the suggestions. I'll swing over to harbor freight and see if they have one of the Daytona ones to match my jack and stands. If not, Amazon here I come.

I have been using a set from eBay which looks the same as pictured in posts 2 and 5 for a couple years now.

I've noticed that at least one puck does not attract as strong as originally and can fall off before I get my Quickjack positioned.

I think the concept is good but the implementation is a bit lacking. The pressure on the nylon block is so great that it steadily wears down. That exposes the magnets more which can then crack. Then the puck does not hold on as strong. But recessing the magnets more only reduces the attraction force.

A cobalt magnet's pulling force increases faster with diameter than with its thickness. Obviously the magnet diameter is constrained by the channel width.

To me, the design could be improved if they were to put in a third magnet. So these pucks could be modified DIY, but that involves sourcing the appropriate magnets as well as drilling with a flat-tip bit such as Forstner. If mine continue to degrade perhaps I will try that.

A third magnet would be nice but I wonder how much it would affect the integrity of the nylon block..At $10 a piece, I'll probably just toss it once a magnet falls out and get another. If it lasts a couple years, that's a fair return imo.

Harbor freight had some. Magnets don't seem particularly strong (or large) but it holds itself to the pinch weld and that's all it needs to do.

3in diameter.

@bucketlist asked where I got the Remove Before Flight keychain tags.

If I just search "Remove before flight" on eBay, I get several seller hits. Here is a direct search link with results. A 3-pack is common. I suggest ordering two (for 6 total), which gives you 2 extra after putting them on your jack pads.

One can be a key chain, or whatever. I put one on a lanyard, and then I may hang it on my steering wheel as a "Don't forget" reminder to check something before starting or driving my car.

Note that the key rings didn't work with my Quickjack so well, so I modified the pucks such that the tags screw onto them directly. I updated the photo in my previous post. I know I saw eBay jack pads that already come with the RBF tags but I didn't see them in those results.
