Sorry CFTP cars, looks like your window has closed.
Evan: I have to believe that Ford has a solution for the temperatures and, as Hack said, the 4S rubber isn't much better off.

And, my delivery ETA hasn't changed since it became available. Obviously, that could still change.

Yea i am happy as long as cars are going down the line but if history is going to repeat itself there will be a shift from cup 2 tires to the base tires here shortly.
I do agree that there should be a way FP can combat temp as being the issue.

It seems so simple to me. There are so many ways to counter the problem. Shipping wheels and tires, offer alternative street tires mounted as an option, mount CF wheels in a controlled environment and immediately load on an enclosed transport (at an additional cost), etc. I would gladly pay extra for any of the above mentioned options. Besides, who the hell wants your baby to ship via rail and open transport and be handled by thugs at all?

Sorry CFTP cars, looks like your window has closed. Bring on the base model production!!
The last CFTP cars for the year rolled off the line yesterday (11/07/2019). It's base cars only from here too warmer weather. This is assuming the weather allows the Base cars to be produced.

My wife just read about a polar vortex on it's way. Temps are supposed to break 100 year record lows.

Well now, isn't that special? Geeze, can't win for losing around here. Sure hope the forecast is wrong...again.
No, actually, it's horrible news. But it is what it is.

Maybe you could be a logistics consultant for FP!!
But you are thinking to logical for a large corporation.

But that is what I am saying. These CF units are special. Treat them as that, not like any other mustang that rolls down the line. People like us would pay for the extra treatment. People that wont? Well let them sit on the lot all winter.

Im not even getting a CFTP but id pay extra for a personal enclosed trailer deliver. As to not "wait" for groupon shippong.

When you think about it, how much more would it cost to ship the car by enclosed trailer, Ford is already charging $1095 to ship the car anywhere in the CONUS.

It gets pretty pricey.
I had both my last 2 cars enclosed shipped to me. I would never do an open transport for 2 reasons.
1) The road debris would be pinging and scratching your paint.
2) You don't know where the truck driver is parking the delivery tuck when stays overnight in a hotel, if it is a long driving distance. Better hope no punks/scumbags mess with the car.

Just allowing factory delivery like Corvette has numerous advantages, including "fixing" this dilemma. Don't want your car sitting in snow or having production delayed for months? Do factory delivery and arrange your own shipping.
