Just allowing factory delivery like Corvette has numerous advantages, including "fixing" this dilemma. Don't want your car sitting in snow or having production delayed for months? Do factory delivery and arrange your own shipping.

So my thoughts on this are that due to scheduling constraints or whatever, they dont want to crank these things out. They dont want to put any special attention into these performance vehicles because they are nothing but mustang's in the grand scheme of things.

Anybody have any other thoughts?

You mean like a black ops mission? Sure, but it will probably go ovet as well as the storming area 51 thing a while back. Besides, we'd need more people and when we got them to the respective safe houses, they'd all have cracked tires.

All kidding aside, there was once a GT350 heist some years ago where the thieves successfully drove about 7 GT350s right out of the gate. They burned one (which happened to be an R model.

I'm having to deal with sunny 70° weather here today, with the top down, I __might__ have to put on a hoodie. Sheesh!

It's 35 daiquiris in Dearborn at the moment. The company will have one day, tomorrow, with a high above 40. After that, the highest it will get is 37 until next Sunday when 40 is again forecast to be the high.

Do we think (or know) whether the 166+ vehicles produced so far are inside or out? If they're out, then even the 4S tires are at risk as well as the Cup 2's.

And even if Ford somehow manages to keep these cars above 40 degrees until shipping, what about the cars sitting on a trailer or a rail car in sub 40 degree temps? Didn't the Michelin caution even include statically parked with the weight on the wheels as a no-no? For sure those trucks and trains are going to see sub 40 degree temps on their treks across the country and that's the part that has me the most worried.

Kent, history has shown they ship cars all winter, even with the other brand summer only tires, like the Perelli tires that came on the performance pack cars. The only tire they halted shipping was the GT350R Cup2.

Perzactly what I thought the answer would be, bubba..thanks...and I agree, FWIW. Now, if it gets down in the twenties before or during shipment, I think all bets are off.

Man, would I EVER hate to find a crack let alone many, in any tire upon delivery. Can you imagine how long we'd probably have to wait for replacement tires?
