Yesterday, I starded changing the front sway bar end link.

I used this tutorial:

So jacked the driver's side , removed the wheel and removed the 2 nuts. Then I tried to remove the link... holly sh.. not as an easy plunk plunk like the guy in the tutorial at all... I tought that using a hammer wont be a good idea...so I had to play with the sway bar and then..it popped out.

I only had time to do 1 side. later this week will do the other one.

So is it normal ? Should I have the car realigned?

You really should have both wheels up in the air as the side still on the ground is obviously attached to the sway bar which is applying force and likely why you had difficulty getting the one side out.

Yep, as above it's an easy mistake to make if you aren't used to working on cars (or even are just forgetful). The swaybar's entire job is to balance the suspension load forces between each side of the axle. So if you have one side up in the air trying to change an end link, the other side is fully loaded and on the ground, so now the bar is in maximum tension.

Changing swaybar links won't require any aligning.

Good to see another DIYer, don't be sorry - you're learning and there's tons of great people on this site willing to lend help.

Now that you're almost done with your first mod - what's your next, because they're ALWAYS another mod when owning a Mustang....😃

I've already done some !!!( brakes caliper powder coated (subcontracted the coating! ), Ford Performance hood shocks, delete the soud tube, cut the center speaker wire, CDC outlaw rear spoiler install, trunk strap addition using the Hundai strap, Steeda jacking rails. Yesterday I've install a White Madness shifter, with OEM manual boot to replace the ugly factory automatic one, also did the CB007 2 point brace install and now I'm on the link kit!)

Still in the to do list :

Short term:

- Steeda overflow coolant tank to replace this OEM desaster!
- JLT Master cylinder cover

Medium term:

- Strut tower tower cap covers
- Have the strut painted black or replace but the Ford performance one

Long term:
- Sound system upgrade
- Finish to pay the car !!!!

I'm cutting my teeth on this amazing car about mecanic

I also do end links with weight on wheels. IMO, it’s the only way to get the bar parallel with the ground/control arm. But, as an alternate, you can just adjust it to match the exact length of the end link you’re taking off. IDK, I’m just a fan of doing as much suspension work as you can at ride height. There’s no funky loads on components, etc, etc.

Did the job this morning... wow! With both wheels of the ground way easier! Adjusted the BMR end liks to the lenght of cheap OEM ones. Will see soon if this money was well spent!
