I've got these panels for the interior handle of a gt350, with carbon fiber exposed from the clear coat falling off over time:

Are these panels toast? Or can they be repaired by someone who knows how and I should not throw them away?

They're currently sitting in the recycling bin.

I'm not expert in CF. But I have watched it be made. If that is the top layer epoxy/resin and exposed is the thatching I don't think it can be. At least not to the quality it was(or wasn't)

I think if it could be repaired perfectly, the costs would probably warrant just getting a new one?

I've heard people use nail polish clear coat, but I think thats YouTube click bait since NP coat cracks and peels within weeks no matter what it's applied to.

Again not an expert, so hopefully somebody who is capable can chime in.

i Use/build with carbon fibre everyday. And you can absolutely repair this , just treat is like any other paint job.
Scrape / peel all the old clear that is peeling and then WET sand it back with 320/400 and clear coat it.
You could do it your self with normal single part acrylic from a can
or
best results use automotive 2k clear ( 2 part )

Wow that's cool. In my case the clear coat has completely cracked and come off on some parts, so it wouldn't be a restoration of the clear coat itself like in the video.

If someone can and wants to fix these, maybe I shouldn't toss them. I'm not sure who made these or where they came from, they came with the 2017 GT350 when I bought it back in 2018.

Maybe it was these for $1100:

Anyone want them?
