Rattling from the B Pillar interior panel

Bumping an old thread here.

Had my 23 C/S for 6 weeks and love it but this noise is really evident and annoying. Has anyone fixed it permanently, or are the dealers aware and have a fix for it.

Here's how I fixed the B-pillar rattle in my car. At the lower end of the B-pillar interior panel, it is overlapped by the top edge of the next interior panel down (which lower panel is next to your hip if you sit in one of the rear seats). This creates a tight gap between the top edge of the lower panel and the lower part of the B-pillar panel. In the part of that gap which is situated next to the rear window (along the rear-facing surface of the B-pillar panel, if that makes sense), I placed some thin pieces of neoprene to deaden vibrations coming from contact between the lower interior panel and the B-pillar panel.

I cut a thin neoprene washer in half to create the gap filling material. I pried the gap slightly open with a butter knife and stuck the washer pieces in the gap, wide side up. After I removed the knife, the panels "grabbed" the washer pieces and held them in the gap. The B-pillar rattle is now gone.

I figured out the source of the rattle by tapping on the panel and noting that the rattling noise seemed to come from that particular gap. It's conceivable that other parts of the gap are creating a B-pillar rattle in your car.
