It should help in FI engines but likely not a factor in NA engines.is SN Plus itself related to piston damage in any way?
I searched for a word "piston" in the link and only found that pennzoil cleans them betterIt should help in FI engines but likely not a factor in NA engines.
Here's a link to get you started (Google API SN Plus to learn more):

LSPI can destroy pistons and so by relation, SN Plus oils can reduce the possibility of LSPI happening and help protect your pistons. EcoBoost engines are especially prone to LSPI so would that phrase "Helps protect against piston damage" apply? Yes, by all means. The same applies to supercharged engines. As for naturally aspirated engines, I'd say "No, not really.". As long as you use good oil and change it regularly in a stock or properly tuned NA engine, you shouldn't get piston damage.I searched for a word "piston" in the link and only found that pennzoil cleans them better
What I was more interested to know was why motorcraft chose to state at the bottle that their oil helped prevent piston damage.
Kind of damage some 18+ owners happen to have.
Yep, that's probably what the statement is about on the new bottles that are API "SN PLUS" rated. If I'm not mistaken, the new oil is API SN Plus which is the new specification for LSPI prevention by reducing oil vapors.
