I found out too late about the Premium Trim upgrade for $395. It seems like a no-brainer but it's too late now. Build is next week. My question, is there any real difference in the quality of the leather of the Ebony Leather seats and the the Premium Trim seats? It would seem pretty cheap at $395 to improve the quality of leather in the entire interior. I think there are additional leather applications to the door panels and center console the the option. If someone has viewed both interiors, it would be interesting to know the difference.

I definitely wouldnt cancel your order and reorder. Ridiculous in my opinion and its not some dramatic difference. Ford leather isn't leather at all fully in any form. The very fact that 68B lists its 'premier' interior as and I quote "vinyl with leather trim" should indicate to you how premier it really is. Its mostly cheap vinyl, seat sides, seat backs, most of the rear seats. But you're talking to a guy who got a base GT and got a 100% leather Katzkin kit (no vinyl) so Im a bit of a leather snob.

I don't know how much better the leather is. The quality is okay, I guess - honestly it does seem kind of vinylish. I did it mainly for the door trims, soft touch and the red, I love red leather interiors.

It's usually not so rough around here... but there are five of these on the main page every day. :D
I obviously hit on a raw nerve. I did search threads prior to posting. But, I didn't find an answer. The question still is, is there a quality difference in the two interiors. It's too late now to change and I screwed up. I'm just curious how a more softer, expensive leather/vinyl can Ford offer for a mear $395? Just me.
This is not a big deal. I'm going love my Mustang no matter the interior. If it had cloth bench seating, I'd still love it. I've been around for awhile, this Mustang is, by far, the most beautiful and most thorough engineered car that has ever come out of Detroit.

If you go for the added trim level you have to forgo certain color options, such as Dark Saddle which I wanted

I've compared the feel of both. The 68B leather has a different pattern and felt slightly softer to the touch. This is a comparison between the seating surfaces only. However, I don't feel cheated in quality with the standard leather. I wanted dark saddle so I didn't get the option. The soft touch upper door panels in 68B are very nice, of course.

Note though, it's not just the leather that's different. You get, as mentioned, soft touch upper door panels, different trim on the doors, leather on the dash and leather wrapped middle console door. I think the stitching is different too.

Sheesh.

I opened this thread and first response was a slam...

Good going.
Agreed. Most of us aren't so bad, but more than one board has gone down hill with bad attitudes toward new members. :)
