Interference or Non?

So I have searched and people are saying its a Non Interference motor and others saying it is a interference (zero clearance) motor? Does anyone know the real answer?

Interference. Bad things happen if you break the crank sprocket that runs the timing chains. Valves will hit. OEM crank sprocket is a good thing to replace while you upgrade the opg (oil pump gears). And vice-versa.

Incorrect.

It is interference engine. Just read where people have timed it wrong after opg and it won't turn over by hand

The reason I started this IS because I screwed up my timing when I did my pump. The reason it will not turn (and it will with enough force) is because the cams get in sync so your fighting several sets of valve springs compressing at once. After I screwed up I inspected the Pistons with a bore scope and there were no noticeable marks from valve contact.

That being said I wish i could find a Ford document stating one way or the other just to set my mind at ease.

I would also have a hard time believing a modern, relatively high compression motor would NOT be interference

I know valve to valve contact was possible in the 11-14s if you changed the safety tables in the tune. The 15s have mid lock phasers so the safety tables became physical. You may still be able to modify the tune to get valve to valve contact in the 15s, I'm not sure of the true range of the mid lock phasers. Looking at the pistons they have valve seats in them. This is to allow for clearance when operating normally. If your engine is not operating normally with a broken timing chain then I would say the valve seats in the piston would not be enough and you would get valve to piston interference. you said you had it installed incorrectly, There is some room for error as the cam shafts are variable, maybe you fell with in that error with your incorrect install.
