Get the loaded GT in a unique color wheel combo or the 50th package. It will be more exclusive than the Shelby. You already said you are using it as a driver, not a track car. Remember the 2015 with PP is faster on a track than the Boss 302.

I want a road course car, so as great as the the gt500 is, I'd rather wait for the gt350. I'd take a standard GT over the gt500 as well, due to the updated rear suspension. GT500 does have certain advantages though.

It seems to me that a loaded gt500 would retail for around 70k. Assuming you can get 10k off due to the new model coming in, you're still around 60k. Rumor has it the gt350 will have a base price under 50k.....figure 60ish loaded.

Clearly I'm making some assumptions and accepting some of the more supported board posts. Also I'm assuming the person has the option to wait another year or so til the gt350 comes out.....

Ultimately both the gt500 and the loaded 2015 gt will be cars that others will lust after. How can you go wrong. Wait for the 2015 gt, wait for the 2016 gt350, go out and buy a 2014 gt500. Let's see....Option 1 GREAT! Option 2 GREAT! Option 3 GREAT!

Another option is to get the 2015GT and then added the factory supported Ford Racing twin screw or a Kenne Bell. I think they are both in the 700RWHP range :)

I voted for the 15' my. I love the fire breathing GT500, but I like the newest things. I was a fan of the new edge and owned 4 of them. I only owned 2 S197s. I think the 15' looks like a mix between the 04 and the 14 IMHO. But that Fastback tho.....

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I read it was the 700 CRANK HP range... Especially since in the article the engine was not in a car....

That means it will push max about what the 14 would, with a blower, probably at lower boost. The compression ratio is to high to get more.

2015 just for the sake of improved vehicle dynamics. I did check out 2014 late last year and poor suspension was a deal breaker for me. 2015 feels like a car made for me. Unbeatable looks, new suspension, hopefully less weight and awesome interior.
Yes I will save some money if I buy 2014 but whats the point if I will have buyers remorse after that?

I want a car that I can drive and not keep in the garage and be afraid to take it out. I also don't need to have the fastest thing out there with the most HP.

A GT is more than adequate for me, and the 2015 will have other benefits. Improved dynamics and handling, better interior, and more tech features.
Same here! GT just suits me better...I feel like most of the GT500 owners are more for "show" (even though they can definitely "go" as well!) and must be kept in garage and mint condition. I would like to be able to drive my car everyday, at least with exception of real rainy or snowy days. So not *quite* a daily driver, but not just a weekend show car either. Not to mention spending an extra $20k on a car....even though I could spend $5k on a blower on a GT and another $5k on suspension and easily be up in performance with a GT500 :D

I've still been debating to wait and see what SVT/Shelby comes out next, but I keep telling myself that a GT suites me better anyway....
