intercooler choices

As I'm very new to forced induction I'm trying to figure out what intercooler to go with? As I'm not looking to make my EB full race or weekend track car, I'm just wondering which way to go. I know there are only a few options being that the EB is fairly new, I was looking at FFTEC but the almost $800 price tag on it kinda took me back. Anyhow any info or advice will be appreciated!

FFTEC also has a less expensive option in the $300 range. Check out their website and the thread they made comparing stock vs their two options.

The Mustang intercoolers are pretty resonably priced compared to other turbo cars on the market. I remember ST intercoolers clearing the $1000 mark and that was normal. Personally I am between the FFtec low end core or the MMR intercooler. At this point anything is an improvement over stock.

Ok I was kinda in the same boat with the fftec & mmr & yes anything over the stock one is a great improvement

I'm leaning toward Ultimate Racing. No irreversible modification and Garrett core. However, it is on the smaller side...not meant for big power and not sure what direction I'll take. Don't want to have to upgrade the IC again in the future.

If you can afford it, get the one that is set up for the person that goes Crazy!

Speaking from experience, once you start modding it, you'll probably end up buying that one anyway. You'll save money in the long run because you won't have to buy an intercooler twice.

I feel ya on the whole modding thing..Lol I also don't want to grab the first shinny thing I see:eyebulge: I know there are a few manufactures building some IC..I rather not have to chop my ride up to make something fit

I agree with TurboAg and Boosted Orange. I want a innercooler that does not require any body mods. Mounts in the factory location and not to big, so it does not block airflow to the radiator.

With a bigger intercooler, chances are very slim it will NOT bolt right up. Like twice or even triple the size of stock.

As for the FFTEC they state a direct replacement with some minor trimming on the grill, there are a few that look like straight bolt on like ATM. Just don't want to hack the car up since its not gonna be a dedicated track/race car..

You have to remove the shutter fin. The lower 2.. and i read i thought you have to disconnect them, like unplug it. I will NEVER hack anything to make a mod fit another mod. Plain dumb.
