Intakes with hood vents

I have hood vents. All the hood vents.

i figured a Steeda closed ProFlow intake might be a good match for a ported 18 intake and an E85 tune but seems like the mass airflow quality sucks, so idle and driveability suffer. Still working with the tuner but signs are pointing at ditching the steeda unit. Going back to my stock ‘16 intake airbox and driveability was immediately significantly bette.

what are my options? Guessing I’ll need some closed unit or another. Just find an 18+ stock airbox? Any other good options to look at? I’m not really excited about a hot air intake, and the hood vents seem like they might be a problem with an open unit.

18+ is hard to beat for an ambient air intake on a n/a car.

I do believe the steeda closed box without insert is marketed as race only.

18 oem, iats are great, flows well, smooth maf curve. Hard to beat.

Insert is (was) in. Tune wasn’t perfect. Might try for it again later,

16 lower box 18 + lid and tube. Not much better N/A. Will need a tune for the 18 MAF diameter.

My current solution.. GT350 Intake, Sealed (home made) Lexan cover, underneath Trackspec hood vents.. Have had a full RR tune with this set-up.. All is good.

Ported CJ manifold / VMP Monoblade 137 / Steeda Closed Box (w/ insert and dry filter). Drives like stock on pump E85. It's all in the tune.
