17 Mustang GT Whipple Gen 3.
Fired it up today after install.
Car ran good for a few minutes. Then threw a code for 'Intake runner control circuit misfire'.
This kit has no Fans. So anybody know what could be causing this code?
Thx.

Are you using lockouts? I was told a retune is necessary if lockouts are used?

Do you have your IC pump triggered by the IMRCs or off of a switched 12v source?

I thought the same thing until I read he has a whipple.
Don’t know who the OP”s tuner is, but I’ve read that Lund wants them locked out on supercharged cars.

Im sure they do. However whipple cars do not have IMRCs any more.

I copy that, but doesn’t the tuner still have to turn off the signal to them, since they aren’t being used? I just figured as much because even though I’m still NA, I have locked mine out and Lund says they need to write new tunes for my car which will cost $150, but no data-logging would be needed. It doesn’t sound like it’s too in-depth, based on the price.

What is the reason behind locking the IMRC's? Is it a must do when adding boost only? More hp?

Sounds like it’s recommended on boosted cars. I don’t know if a car will make more power with them locked out. I only did mine because I wanted to declutter the back of the engine bay and eliminate the possibility of broken IMRC shafts, which apparently happens on occasion.

When I reached out to Lund about lockouts, here was John Nardi’s response:

“You will need all new tunes. No logging. Why are you locking them now? I keep seeing people do this and its creating more work for no reason at all . Did you break yours?”

Ok I see. Well I'll just keep mine stock then. Thanks for your reply.

PD Blower units replace the intake manifold and do not contain the IMRC system. If you're NA or using a centri or something it's a bit different, but even then there's no real reason to delete them. You just lose a bit of low end for no reason. I guess for less complexity it's nice to be rid of them though.

So pretty much just to clean up the engine bay & avoid future mechanical failure from breaking said shafts. Ok thank you for adding that bit of info.

Sorry I didn't answer or stay on this thread. I bailed on the tune after doing more research on the tuner and his lack of replying with any help. Also my NGauge became a paperweight during datalogging.
As far as who the tune came from, here's a hint:
Vastly Mounting Pain.
