I was trying to remove my intake manifold because I think I have failed actuators. Only had this car a few weeks and this CEL is killing me.

Anyways I have been stuck at this part for the past few hours. No one on youtube seemed to have as hard a time as I am trying to unclip those back connectors......... taking a break and will try again after dinner. What's the secret? I can't pull it out any more or I feel like I might break the clips

I think I'm throwing in the towel. Spent another 3 hours trying to get the clips and wire tabs off with no luck. Pretty sure I may have messed up something else. Calling around for a mobile mechanic tomorrow, if I can even find one who knows s550s.

Have you tried lifting the manifold up and pulling it forward some? I don't remember it ever being this difficult with the clips. You need to give your hands a bit more room to work with.

Can't recall if the wiring loom to the clips are attached to the firewall or not but if they are pull that connector off to allow the mani to move forward more.

I took a wire cutter and cut the tabs off the clip that holds the harness to the rear of the manifold. Mine had 2. That gave me enough room to unplug the connectors.

Yea it is a real bear to do it the first time.

Yeah I broke two body panel removers trying to get those clips off that hold the wiring in. I tried cutting them but cant get the right angle with my hands in there. I feel like once those clips are out I should be able to get the connectors but man it's a pain.........

Thanks everyone. I figured out the secret lol. Had to ask my neighbor to come over and help me. I lifted and held the manifold while he went in and cut the tape, undid the fasteners. So the secret is a helping hand for sure if you are an amateur like myself. Almost paid a mobile mechanic $200 to come do it I was so frustrated.

46k but I just bought the car used. Who knows how long it was broken with the previous owner. He probably had no idea this could be a problem and just kept clearing the CEL.

The car ran perfectly fine. No hesitation or anything.

I cant decide what to do to repair this. New manifold, used manifold, upgraded or supercharged...... wasn't expecting to mod so quick. Ran a compression test before pulling the manifold and the engine seems in decent shape.
