they had to do the same thing for my 2015 mustang gt when i bought it since the vin was not in there and it never went up. i have high coverages, 300/300/250, 50 ded comp with full glass, 200 ded collision. we have 4 cars on it, 2015 mustang gt, 2015 mustang eco, 2015 fusion, and 2012 focus, online it went with the mustang gt, so i called them, he sent me a quote that says gt350 on it, thats why he wanted the price paid as well. and thats $30 extra every month, not $180 for 6 months total, thats on top of what i pay for my gt now.i think we pay about 340 a month now, not including the focus, my daughter pays her part of the ins. thats for the 3 we pay.
Will that quote be for 4 total cars (ie the GT350 replaces the GT) or 5 total cars?

I had my agent with Mercury quote swapping my GT for teh GT350 and it was not bad at all

I currently pay $2200/yr for 4 vehicles, full coverage on all 4 (with my 2012 GT being the oldest car on the policy), new quote with the GT350 replacing my GT was going to be around $2400, but that is as a leisure vehicle and <5k miles a year

I wish there is a way to negotiate with the insurance company on rates by numbers of miles driven because I don't plan on going over 1k miles a year with mine.

One of the rating factors is annual miles, some carriers use exaxt numbers, others use a range. No negotiating with insurers for personal policies, but commercial policies you can. If you have a business entity... Set up a business auto policy and you can typically add expensive cars for dirt cheap because you can actually negotiate price on commercial insurance:thumbsup:

Geez, I hope USAA doesn't get me like that. 30+ years with them. Geico does my motorcycle though, so will try both I guess.

$180 every 6 months... are you running around with minimum limits? I doubt that is correct. I could be wrong, but 99.9% sure they messed up. That's the problem with new vehicles, especially one like this. VIN's don't populate in the system when they are brand new. After you add it to the policy and get off the phone, it will go to an actual underwriters desk, they will adjust it, you will get bill in the mail for much higher.
He is saying its 30 a month more than his current gt. So if his gt is 340 a month the shelby would be 370 a month. Not 30 bucks a month total for the Shelby

Now that my VIN shows up in the system, I was able to get a no kidding quote for my GT350. All I can say is wow. I expected my insurance to go up, but not to double. Just to clarify, I'm 39, have two cars (one being a 2014 BMW 335), and a clean record. I use USAA and have a $500 deductible. The GT350 is a third vehicle that will not be driven more than 4000 miles a year.

My cost is an additional $960 every six months. Prior to that, the BMW and my SUV were $880 combined. That's over $1800 every six months for insurance. Before this quote, I had a 2015 Z28 as a filler quote which cost just under $700. Better yet, my former 97 Supra w/ 600whp was a third of the cost of the GT350 (mostly due to the car's age).

So this isn't a gripe or complaint. It's a new car with 500+ HP, so the saying is, you have to pay to play. It is a warning for the younger future owners to check on your insurance rates before you pull the trigger on the purchase. Now that some car's have been built, it would be great to see some other insurance cost comparisons.

That sucks man but hey just be happy you don't live in New Orleans it would have tripled or even quadrupled.

Pay more than $1800 on two cars. Can't wait to see what the 350 runs.

I'm in my 30s as well. Wife and my records are clean.

I am 40 years old clean record and my 2012 GT500 was 2200/yr. I think it's because it's a Shelby and over 500 HP. You want to play you gotta pay. That's with Liberty Mutual and a total of 4 cars and everything else I own insured by them. 2200 just for the Shelby. More than all other combined. Also 2 of the other cars are over 60,000 dollar vehicles.

For those that have gotten quotes without a valid VIN (i.e. the GT350 is not in their system yet), take that price with a grain of salt. USAA used the Mustang GT for their first guesstimate and I thought that was way too low. That's why I had them quote me on a 2015 Z28. Even then, they underestimated by almost $100 a month. I wonder what Hellcat owners are paying?

I just switched from USAA to Progressive. I don't have any type of performance car and my insurance with USAA for a 2000 Cherokee was $540/6mo with $250 deductibles. I just turned 25 and though the rates should be going down. I got a quote with Progressive and it was $279 for 6 months. With progressive I have better coverage too. Sometimes you just need to shop around. Different companies insure everyone differently.

the quote is for 4 total cars, i am trading in the 2015 gt for the 2016 gt350. our price is $3500 for 6 months for 4 cars, but for mine and my wifes, we only pay about 2000 of it, (my daughter is young and already had accident), so ours will move from 2000 for 6 months to about 2180 for 6 months trading in the 2015 gt and replacing it with the 2016 gt350 is what they told me. thats with 8000 miles a year i said i would drive it, may cut it down to 6000 since thats about all i put on the gt in the 1 year today that ive owned it. i am 49 and my wife is 46, no tickets, in AZ. No accidents for us, just my daughter has hers, so her price is higher but put on our ins to keep her rate down somewhat. i have full coverage, 300/300/250, 50 ded comp and full glass, 200 collision ded, plus under and uninsured coverage and towing.

i got a quote on a 13' GT500 and it actually wasn't that bad and i'm 26. so i figure with the gt350 it shouldn't be bad either.

Your credit rating affects your insurance rates too. If not a daily driver I would try Heacock or Grundy. Stated value of $45K for my 2013 Boss was about $850 per year with Grundy. I'm also in Iowa where rates are a little cheaper than you city folks, LOL.

All the quotes I got are in the other thread I linked to above. Heacock wanted $1024 for 3k miles etc. But here's what scares me about places like these. It's your word against their legal teams if you crash going to the car show at Burger King. How do you prove you weren't really joy riding. I would stay with real insurance. Geico has been best. When I called them the guy I spoke to knew of the gt350 as he was going to buy one too
