I got tired of opening the hood and remove the battery cover to charge/trickle charge my battery. So I installed a remote charging cable and mounted the external connector on my upper grill. Worked great.

That is a neat convenience and thank you for that but how often would you actually use a trickle charger? There should be no need to do so for vehicles stationary for 2-3 weeks at a time. I will use one when I park my vehicle for the winter but that will be about it.

Well I installed my battery tender the week I bought my car in March 2019. I'm still on the original battery. Cranks solid everytime. Great, I just jinxed myself.

Shouldn't need it all that often but then again you shouldn't need a tow hook on a regular basis but for some reason, some people still drive around with them on all the time...

The NOCO Genius 10 amp Smart charger, charges up to 10 amps when needed, refreshes battery if needed and trickle charges, maintainer if I want. I just hated opening my hood all the time.

Here is a picture of the charger which has a connector to connect other cords to

Better to have it and not need it then to need it and not have it. My car sits quite a bit and when I work on the interior, the car amp draw is quite high, I think the last time I checked it was like 7-8 amps. To each his own as they say.
