@Atlas1 @Quick Just out of curiosity, the pin on the throttle body broke when you unplugged the connector? Is there any specific way how to do that, or you just yank it out?
I am asking because it seems that the way it secures is hinted by the pics posted here, but I do not see any obvious way how to release it (safely).
One mine, the pin on the throttle body didn't break - I didn't even remove the throttle body connector to install the AOS.

There is, however, a slip that secures the wiring harness to the front of the timing cover. That clip slides over one of the timing cover studs. That stupid clip broke when removing it from the stud. And it doesn't seem to be a serviceable part.

Get you some of these from your local hardware store, stick one on top of the wiring harness connector and the other on the body of the motor on the throttle body and use a zip tie as mentioned above to hold it together. That should make sure it won’t back out until you can replace the throttle body. See blue Xs on your photo of where to place the cable tie mounts.

Tonight I’m going to take some better pictures and post them here for the next person that runs into this. @Quick ill take a photo of the clip you are dealing with as well.

Be sure to clean both surfaces with alcohol and make sure they’re dry before sticking the cable tie mounts on the Xs.

I’ll try to mess with it again when I get home from work. I should have taken a pic with the connector off as well. Does the red tab lock on to a small plastic tab that sticks up like a fin?
After looking a bit more on the pic you posted earlier, I believe you might have locked the red tab prematurely, and the connector could not go all the way in as it was already locked and held by the counterpart pin on the throttle body. You might want to try to fully pull the red tab out, and then push the connector all the way in until it is seated flush with the body and then push the red tab back.

I don't think those will stick long term due to the heat. Try it but I doubt it will work with a zip tie at those angles.

Pull the red tab out and slide the connector off. What does the socket look like? Does it look broken?

After another closer look and good advice from you guys, I’m definitely looking at a new throttle body. All for one stupid piece of shit plastic tab. Half of me is laughing and the other half wants to throw shit around the garage. Hopefully the calm side wins that battle tonight.

couple more of the connector itself showing the red tab in the locked and unlocked position. At least that end appears to be ok thankfully.

heres a few more for @Quick showing the other cheap plastic clip he’s dealing with. Funny because when I was doing the install that was the clip I was most worried about. Word of advice……..don’t break either of them!

Is this throttle body unique to the Mach 1? If not, I'd try to score one off of a wrecked car.

Pretty use it’s the same throttle body as the gt350

Sounds completely backwoods, but a possible easy cheap fix to get you by - I’d use some JB Plasticweld, mix up the 2 compounds, wait a bit until it becomes a paste…sand the broken area (on TB plug) a tad….then try to put a decent pile/dab on the broken area trying to create a new stop (pile it up where the piece broke off, maybe with a toothpick? and let dry completely).
After it’s completely hardened, grab a small file, exacto knife, Dremel (cut off wheel for dremel to shape precisely), and shape the pile of JB accordingly until it gives a decent shape for the connector to lock over.

$7.00 and maybe 30 minutes (minus dry time)?

might be worth a try before dropping time/cash on a new TB.

That connector isn’t being tugged on, it just needs to be kept in place. Shouldn’t take much and would be unnoticeable to everyone, but you.

Fuck me. In the picture you posted on the piece that sticks out (bottom left) that little tiny fin like tab that sticks up…..I think that is broken off. And I was so careful to pull the red clip back gently and pull the connector off slowly. What a cheap piece of shit way to secure the harness.
Confused, are you saying this (?blade?) is broken ? Your photo sure as hell is not showing that.

It looks like the plug is not seated, remove the plug take a picture of it the socket and plug. Also the red tab does not appear to be close/clipped in the first picture posted.

Take a breath and look the situation over, figure out what's going on.

Look at his pic more closely - the tab that the connector lock sits against is clearly broken. He needs a new throttle body, unfortunately.

Aw ok see it in photo 2 of your quote. For some reason it did not display, or just blew by it ... Thanks

The throttle body electrically is working ? If it were "I" would zip tie the 2 harnesses, they both ride in the same area, so chances of it pulling out are nill

The area circled will will act as a strain relief, not stressing or pulling the TB plug
