Ok what specialized tool do I need to remove the strut nut? See photo below.

Issue is you can’t get the wrench on the nut to remove the nut. You can’t use a socket because you need to hold the top of the strut so it doesn’t rotate with the strut.

I know several people have done is so what did y’all use?

I ain't gonna lie, I always use a socket and impact gun......

Your other option is an offset boxed wrench for the nut, and anything you want to hold the Allen stud (I usually use a socket on a ratchet).

You can also get specialized sockets for this very purpose

That offset wrench is what I was thinking.

@Jmeo, (which, BTW, I dislike using but I understand why the software appreciates it,) but in any event, Jaime, I wasn't the least bit surprised that you had the correct tools. :-)

While I've used those style wrenches in my youth, they always belonged to someone else, usually a gas station. I don't own a set even now but, you really cannot have too many tools, right?. Just don't ask my wife that question.

Tools are like the gun rule. Better to have it and not need it than to need it and not have it.

This is exactly what impact guns are made for? Well for me at least! compress the spring, zip the nut off, swap the spring, zip the nut back on.....done
