many people use 17x9 99-04 cobra wheels
Will these fit the rear of our cars? I've heard they won't does anyone have input?

Sweet. I just ordered these after seeing an s550 with 17x9 cobra wheels on the back. Only $99 per wheel and after my discount only paid $187 for both! Can't beat that compared to the ~$600 for two race stars. Also ordered 275/40/17 nt05rs to put on them so only paid about $562 for the whole rear setup

You MIGHT have an issue with the offset/backspacing on those as far as fitment with the fender goes, but if it's only for track use, who cares? Lol.

Well Im picking up a set of New Edge GT wheels like GSLS has this weekend. $75 bucks for both in great shape. Now just have to find the best price on 28x10 Hoosiers, any input?

You might want to go with a 9" wheel. If you look around you can find old cobra r wheels cheap. I went with the 8" wheel and my car sways bad. I just ordered a set of skinny wheels to see if that helps. If I were to do it again I would buy some cheap 9" wheels.

99- GT is the lightest wheight forged wheel . The 8" is fine . I've run 1.52 60ft on that wheel . With full size radials on the front you will get some sway with the bias ply slick no matter the rim size . Make sure not to over correct . Matched bias ply skinnies will smooth it all out . The cobra wheels I've weighed were 26lbs and up .

With the A6 you can just run a drag radial . A Slick is good for the M6 . Doesn't really make a difference on the auto . The bias ply absorbs the drivtrain shock of the manual .

I ordered a set of race star wheels wit bias ply fronts and I hope this helps. I have tried them with 14-18lbs in them hot. It is bad after the 1/8th. I do love the way the slick hooks though. I am hoping to get an 11.4 in a couple of weeks.

I run 99-04 17x9 10th anniversary wheels (LMR) with 28" hoosiers. Lethal has a good deal on the tires with their discount code (LP2016).

Didn't want to go all out with wheels/tires on this car like I did the 15. Just enough to play now and then. Plus the 10th anni. wheels are pretty close looking to my F14's :)
