I have half shafts on the way so now I'm ready to get some drag radials. I'm debating going to an 18" rear wheel to keep costs down a bit compared to a 19" setup. There are plenty of 305/xx/18 tire options and very few in the 19" range.

Assuming I go this route, what are the pros/cons to a 305/45/18 vs 305/40/18? Is the ~1" difference enough to be noticeable time/speed wise?

1" inch difference? 305 mm width is 305/25.4 = 12 inches wide. 45% vs 40% ratio for sidewall is a 5% difference. 5% of 12 inches = 0.6 inch.
