I'll agree that all four sensors being out of sync to the same degree concurrently is unlikely. Nor will I doubt your comparative analysis with the two other cars; that would be obnoxious.

There's not much I can offer to constructively help you diagnose a malfunction, but I can offer my experience with the TPMS units in the GT350. The sample rate of the sensors is relatively low; meaning that it literally can take more than a minute to register the actual pressure. I've noticed that if I read 35 psi on a cold tire with a gauge, the TPMS readout may indicate 33 psi. But, after running down the road for a minute or so, the TPMS readout indicates 35. That's a short period of driving leaving my neighborhood, so it's not long enough I think for the tires to heat up much.

That's my experience. Doesn't mean you don't have a sensor issue, but it may be a question of when you're comparing the TMPS to a gauge reading.

Its likely just the sensors themselves. I just had new tires put on a different car and installed new TPMS, and now all the readings are like 4PSI high

Me crazy, and I can't help myself
I would like to understand your (and other people who call me a troll here) definition of a troll. I have been hanging around here for a year now. Initially the agreement was that I was trolling these forums and had no genuine interest in buying the car. Right. Now I bought the car (and have 3000 miles on it), how am I trolling?

As a person, I'm cynical. It's my personality. I like weighing in on negatives of pretty much anything rather than positives, because in my mind in the most primitive way, a person must account for negatives, pitfalls, weakpoints, etc in order to survive/succeed/etc. That's how I am. So I come here and I point out problems about this car, and I'm automatically a troll.

My definition of a troll is someone purposefully stirring shit up for his own amusement. What I am doing isn't that. I truly believe in what I say and I stand behind it. Because I'm an outlier/minority/don't drink the kool aid, I'm treated as a troll. I disagree and I honestly am sick of it.

You can see me in BMW forums after owning several BMW M cars critiquing BMW. You can see me do the same in apple forums after owning several apple products. I always focus on negatives, weak points. I'm an engineer and as part of my job I have to design for weaknesses, that's how my brain is wired up.

Stop calling me a troll because I am not. Seriously. If anyone reads my post history and put some serious thinking into it, you'll see I'm genuine.
Ok - you asked the question so i will answer. Whether or not you are a troll is a matter of how someone chooses to define the word. At the beginning i did believe you were just trolling but afterwards i came to believe that you were just pompous and self righteous. You ran around these forums complaining about ADM's and told people that they were idiots for paying them and how it was their fault blah blah blah. Not really a great way to endear yourself to a new community by insulting more than half the population of GT350 owners. Then you came to realize you might actually have to pay an ADM yourself so you softened on your stance, then you found a car at MSRP (or so you say) and then you got back up on your high horse. Now you own the car, and as you run into issues or questions you realize that you need the community to help and are surprised when your posts are met with no responses or responses that are less than helpful or mocking. Are you really that surprised that the people you called idiots aren't interested in helping you out? Can't speak for everyone but thats at least my position. You made your bed...

Ok seriously, although I do look at my TPS' s im really only using them as a reference. I believe them to be just about dead nuts,,, key word "just about". If these things and a decent tire gage are within 2/3 +\- I'm feeling pretty good.
As in a other post I just look to see if I'm losing massive amounts of air.

I think what's happening is the car is displaying the WARM values when started. I will admit that I took measurements from the screen right after driving off. What might be happening is it takes a good few miles for the tires to rescan the pressure values.

I dont want to take it to Ford because I dont want them removing my tires as I'm sure they will immediately want to change the sensors which means lots and lots of hair pulling moments (they might scratch the wheels, balancing them will require them to remove the weights which will leave residue/scratch, etc). I think as someone pointed out this is just a matter of car taking too much time to scan those and the screen always shows the previous (warm) values.

Maybe someone can check with their car to see if they observe what I'm observing. i.e. measure using a gauge when car is cold, start the car and drive a few hundred feet, and check the screen to see if they match the gauge?

Mine usually read 32psi when cold and by the time I get done with my 30 minute drive to work, they read around 35psi (from the Ford TPMS).

How can it read cold? I thought the way these tpms sensors work require the car to be driven and several hundred revolutions to pass per tire before they can report a reading.

What I'm noticing is my tires show 35-36 all the time, even after driving an hour. So maybe the initial values are delayed values from the previous run.

In my BMW, car wont show any psi for 5 miles or so, when you go to that screen it says "pressures will be measured while driving". I thought all of these sensors worked the same way but maybe i m wrong

The sensors actually work without the car being driven.
Mine changes when just sitting in the garage.

My experience has been that it takes the sensors some time, sometimes more than a minute, to report the pressure accurately when air is added or taken away. I have also found that my drivers side front takes longer to report than any of the other sensors in the other wheels. But I do find that when I add or take away air from the tires, once all the sensors have reported the new pressure, they are bang on with my tire gauge. And they will report new pressures even when the car is parked.

And I might add that the " you're a Troll " comments from others whenever MCarsFan posts are becoming tiresome.

Point #1- That's why the forum folks offer this :dnftt:!

Point # 2 - what became tiresome first, the threads or the troll comments?

FWIW, I enjoy watching these threads deteriorate:lol: and agree 100% w dron_jones take on the OP.

Did you check with a digital gauge? :D

First, I love this post coming from a BMW guy, because of the well known C&C video.

Second, I know MCarsFan isn't a troll, and I don't think his posts are anywhere close to seeming that way. He's just a very detail oriented person, and isn't afraid to ask questions.

My experience with pressure sensors is as follows:

2010 VW GTI - I think my version uses an actual sensor, but it doesn't return a pressure value. Just illuminates an idiot light on the dashboard when a tire is low. Since it's a VW, the light is currently illuminated even though all my tires are fine. COMPLETELY WORTHLESS!

2003 350Z - This system has individual sensors on each wheel, and they do return a pressure value. The car must move some distance before a value is displayed. Even so, they only need to rotate a 1/4 mile at most, which is not anywhere near enough time for the temperature to stabilize. I therefore can still get a cold temp reading when the sensors first start to transmit. I think these read within 1 PSI of my analog pressure gauge.

3016 GT350 - Similar system to the Z, but the sensors seem to transmit whenever the car is on. I had a hole in the tire that I repaired, and I could watch the pressure in the tire increase as I inflated the tire. There was a significant lag as someone mentioned above, but even with the car sitting still, the sensor was changing. Mine will start off at ~32 PSI and will finish at ~35 (depending on weather of course). I think they are also reading within 1 PSI of my analog gauge, but I haven't checked recently to be sure.

If I were you, I'd add some air to one or more of the tires just to confirm that the sensor are actually measuring changes in pressure. If you are driving for a decent distance, you should see some pressure change as they heat up.

I used these gauges:

https://www.amazon.com/JACO-FlowPro...82534118&sr=1-27&keywords=tire+pressure+gauge

https://parts.bmwofsouthatlanta.com...ml?partner=googlebase_adwords&kwd=&origin=pla

https://www.amazon.com/Accutire-MS-...&sr=8-6&keywords=tire+pressure+gauge+accutire

Two of them are very high end and one of them is analog. They all read the same.

I'm really afraid of taking the car to the ford dealer. When these tires are dead, I am going to convert my wheels to be the winter set and put sottozeros on them, when I do that maybe I ll throw away the TPMS and buy new ones:( I will do my best to not to take this car to the dealer.

My gear shifter has an amazing rattle now that has gotten much worse in 2nd gear. It rattles so much that my 6 year old asks me to "stop the noise" because its so annoying. I went to Ford and they are saying they need to remove the transmission, the interior panels, this and that. Just listening the guy I got goosebumps. I am waiting for the MGW shifter to come out with a fix to the vibration problem and I m hoping installing that will fix my problem.

I'm not a troll, this is just my personality. I am like this in real life as well. I'll always point out the negatives and focus on problems, I'm a fixer/problem solver. Somehow on the internet it comes across in a bad way. All my comments about ADM etc were right and now these cars are selling at MSRP (or below). I said this in August/September and now we are in December. Anyways, it is what it is, I cannot force people to like me.

Well a troll will try to get under the skin of people, say things to gauge a reaction. However, MCarsFan level of trolldom is more of his personality (or forum personality) which has underlying troll tendencies. You learn this in Trolling 101 classes at the University.
