I was wondering if everyone else has this on their rotors. Initially I thought it was a bad wheel but I found it in all four. It looks like incomplete coating. Im tempted to paint over it with high temp grill paint to prevent rust. Thoughts?

Yea coating looks missing, not going to hurt anything either way.

Guess the worst thing I could do is put WD40 on it.

I'd wire brush it and paint it.

Mine has a bit of it. I’m dumping all 4 boat anchors and replacing with rebuilable rotors with aluminum centers. Probably going with Steeda since I can get all 4, GiroDisc only makes fronts for some dumb reason. I wanted slotted but not cross drilled.
but yet your paint idea will work as well

Kenny Brown Baer rotors is what i will go with. They have all 4 and good weight reduction. Slotted only.

I’ve got a few spots like that on my rotors. Looks like someone at the factory bumped it putting on the wheels.

Either that or brake hard enough to burn off the rust….

Mine are rusting as well.
Im gonna wire brush my spots and touch up with this. Its designed for calipers so it should hold up to the heat.

If you have time, will you please report back with pics and an evaluation of the Rustoleum product afterward? I have the same issue.

Update:

i was at a local dealer yesterday and it’s a pretty common issue. Instead of removing the tires and spraying, I plan on just finger painting it with the paint I bought. Not really that big an issue to me. i may just leave it as is.
