Well, Zach, like I said before: There are two parties to a car sale, and both parties need to feel like they're getting something out of the deal. I understand that you want everything done your way, but dealers want to make a little money, so hopefully you can strike up a good balance between what you want & what they want.
I understand the points you've made, as I've been a savvy consumer for decades. I have a degree in finance, so I manage my personal finances very well. But, I know the dealer side of the equation very well, too, as I'm the General Sales Manager for a large volume Ford dealership. Most dealers are not making huge profits anymore; too much competition. Decades ago, cars dealers made obscene amounts of money. However, the business is so transparent anymore (thank the internet) that it's driving more and more dealers out of business. In the past decade, I've seen lots of car dealers go out of business in our area.
