Well, Zach, like I said before: There are two parties to a car sale, and both parties need to feel like they're getting something out of the deal. I understand that you want everything done your way, but dealers want to make a little money, so hopefully you can strike up a good balance between what you want & what they want.

I understand the points you've made, as I've been a savvy consumer for decades. I have a degree in finance, so I manage my personal finances very well. But, I know the dealer side of the equation very well, too, as I'm the General Sales Manager for a large volume Ford dealership. Most dealers are not making huge profits anymore; too much competition. Decades ago, cars dealers made obscene amounts of money. However, the business is so transparent anymore (thank the internet) that it's driving more and more dealers out of business. In the past decade, I've seen lots of car dealers go out of business in our area.

Okay, your points are fair.

I don't have the time to rebuttle, but in my opinion, a dealer only exists as a medium between Ford the company and me. If I didn't have to deal with a dealer to buy a car, and could buy direct from Ford, I would. But since I don't have that option, and my only option is to buy directly from a dealer, the dealer should do whatever I want so I can buy my vehicle, not get in the way with their shenanigans when I have clearly laid it on the table how I want to do it.

But, I see your point. I wish you were near me, we could speak more about the issue and actually sell me a Mustang lol.

Why not buy one from him anyways and drive it back? Plane tickets are cheap and it could be a fun couple days

If you really wanted this car and were a half way reasonable person. You'd already be an owner.

Exactly! Can't stand guys like OP thinking the dealership owes him something.

While I'm enjoying my car, he's over here bitching about how nobody wants to feed him grapes in a recliner.

Your opinions I suppose, of which you are entitled to. But I don't give my business to a place that treats me like shit and wont do exactly what I want to do.

And if you guys choose to do that, well thats your prerogative.

I'm all about bashing someone who expects royal treatment, but op is right I this case. Assuming he's telling the whole story and not leaving out that he was expecting to be treated like their only customer...

Those of you who will accept those sorts of run arounds and treatment, well, I got stuff to sell you. PayPal me 500$ and I'll send it to you. You may or may not get it but that's ok since that's all you expect.

lol... salesmen ^^ . He simply wanted to bring his banks check in and get the car. Not be harassed to finance with them. The dealer is acting like a panhandler in this situation. And the attitude they have because he doesn't do what they want would cost them a sale imo.

It cost two dealerships in my area an easy sale. I just don't accept it.
