Myjaja, I hope you're not referring to me. I'm not whining, crying or bitching. I actually asked Moddiction for the files just to add another tester under their belt to prevent a flood of issues like this. Obviously that was a good choice, since there's something going on with the .rar file I was sent or my unit. Working the bug out before this hits the masses is the intention of a beta. That being said, I do agree there are some on here that go a little too far.

The intructions say to put everything from the .rar onto the root directory of the USB stick, not in a folder. I've tried this many ways just for testing purposes (leaving the update folder alone, putting the update folder contents on the root directory also, putting the whole folder on the root directort.).

The instructionso also say to use the "system reset" option, not system update. I worked with moddiction himself a bit. He confirmed its the right .rar file I was linked to and that I should not use "system update"

Not you, helping him fix the issue is going on the right track. Im talking about some others in this thread that have done nothing but complain over and over again about the same thing.

Has anyone else had trouble updating to the beta software? I've played with this all week and cannot get the upgrade to install with the instructions provided.

Mine does the same thing which is why I'm getting a refund.
My USB doesn't work at all but shows power. I ended up having to load the update to the sd card in the back and install it that way.

I was able to update the unit by choosing "system update". Moddiction, you may want to include that in the instructions as a secondary option to updating the unit.

Here are some issue's that I found with the time. Other's may have reported these issues already, but I haven't seen any videos showing it. Prior to this firmware upgrade I had no issues with time, so long as I changed my timezone.

This video was not made to complain or bash. It's meant to be helpful for Moddiction and their software contact.

Here's what I've noticed in a nutshell
- New time button
- If in 12 hour format, adjusting the time always reverted back to 2am within moments
- Adjusting the time in 24 hour format allows you to adjust the time, but time doesn't progress, or does really slowly
- Rebooting the unit does some interesting flickering of different times before stabilizing. In the video, at one point it showed 1pm, then 1:30pm, before going to the actual time
- Have to use GPS time, which takes a while to load
- Still have to go forward 1 time zone to display the correct time

Thank you for the video. So strange how some cars have no issues and others do with the same software. That is what is making it more difficult for software team to get these bugs fixed. I will forward this on and get an update soon!

I don't have a 2015/16 Mustang but offer this for a possible reason. There are many GPS satellites in orbit for the US. The software in the radio may be using a time zone which is getting a code from a particular satellite which may be giving a +/- hour based on where it thinks the time zone of the receiver is. Interesting that the guy having the time pump 1 hour is in Ohio, maybe close to a "time zone border" and actually getting GPS from another satellite.

I would think the radio would read zulu time from the GPS satellite, regardless of which satellite and then make the hour shift based on location set by the radio user and the hour offset of that time zone to zulu time.

For the guy (soldier) above, can the radio read zulu time? If so, is your calculated time zone time correct based on displayed zulu time? IF the radio reads correct zulu time, then this is the simple software fix.

I'm not familiar with Zulu time or if the unit has a change that I can make for this. The time zone issue existed on the previous version without using GPS as a source for time. The very strange issue I show in the video is not being able to adjust time in the 12 hour format at all. It keeps flipping back to 2am no matter what.

Initially my time was off as well, after the third time of messing around with the time zones it has been correct ever since.

One difference I noticed is I cannot turn on the radio unless the car is on run active or started up. The factory unit (I'm sure it's the same as on the Premiums) never needed the car to be running or even have the FOB present.

So unit not being on stand by mode may be contributing to the problem of keeping time.

Zulu time is GMT (Grenich mean time). All time world wide is based off GMT. Generally CST offset by 5 or 6 hours depending on daylight savings time.

Ah, I know GMT, just didn't know the term Zulu. Good to know.

GPS connects to 4 satellites at a single time while they are consistently orbiting. So you will never be connected to a singular satellite for longer than 12 hours as another will take its place.

GPS also goes off Julian day/Zulu, setting your timezone within the software will +/- from GPS.

My guess is that the software isn't doing that math correctly from the GPS time or that a new "time" function needs to be created entirely that properly saves the time.

It could also just be the whole system permanently shuts off sometimes as well when the car turns off which would mess the time up.

He (Ryan) told me to use system reset as well; it did not work. When I chose system update, with the USB having the files in the root, the system updated in 10 min.
