Been lurking this forum since Sept 2013 and I have been following the s550 for almost two years now. I finally had the opportunity to test out both cars for 24 hours each.
Coming from a 2012 Camaro v6, the v6 s550 feels equaly fast despite being lighter, the base interior is really nice in person and the seats are comfortable. This car has a reliable engine and I will seriously consider it if the after market comes up with a bigger screen.
The ecoboost premium is definitely faster than my 2012 Camaro but I noticed a bit of turbo lag and the sound is also not bad for a 4cyl. The interior is nice and My ford touch is not as bad as described in my opinion. I liked the pony projector but cooled seats are not really cooling in my opinion. I could hear a noise under the seats but It didn't feel really cold out there so for people who opt out of recaros for cooled seats, I say get the recaros. I got good mileage(23mpg) with an agressive foot.
Overall I think Ford did a good job but I am really not impressed with the ecoboost, I can tell it has a lot of potential but the v6 is the better bang for your buck just because of the NA engine and great sound so I can't wait to get my hands on one.:ford:
