I will be traveling to Chicago to visit family in a few weeks. I need to install my IPass transducer on the inside of my windshield but the Mustang has that black decal(?) on where the little IPass thing is normally mounted. Where have any of you mounted this device? Any help is appreciated.

just offset it onto the clear section of the glass on the passenger side. Bonus - I can't see the damn thing when I look in the rearview.

I have mine right outside the frit but on the right side of the mirror. I cannot see it at all from the driver's seat.
With that location in mind, is it at all possible for me to mount the device on the side of the mirror that faces the glass? Or should I not test this subject and just mount it on the window, on the passenger side just below the Ford window mesh?

why? take some masking/painter's tape and secure it to the mirror and go thru some toll booths to see if it is read properly. I don't think it will. I doubt you want that thing adding lopsided weight to the mirror anyway. The 3m comes off the glass easily enough.

I'll just velcro the device to the window and not tempt an issue. It is just a shame that it will work with States east of Illinois only.

states to the west don't have toll roads. They haven't adopted the philosophy of extracting usury from their residents. :)

Man....my dad told me before I was born, they put the toll booths in to temporarily pay for his and that...this was WELL over 40 years ago now. It's 2021 and here we are...I love and utterly hate Chicago at the exact same time, LMAO!

It needs to be visible from straight above the vehicle. I'm not sure if the frit (mesh) obscures the sensor for it.

In some vehicles I just keep it in the cupholder and it usually works. If you have one registered to your vehicle and it doesn't go off IDOT will just charge your account.

With that said, I highly recommend the EZ Skin
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07ZDJJPWH/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

You can mount it just below the decal, to the left or right of it , or in corner on the passenger side and it's much less obvious and ugly.

One of the nicest things about living in Kansas regarding cars is:
no front license plate,
no window decals for cars licensed in Shawnee, KS,
no inspections for anything so no decals etc.

There are a few toll roads but it isn't that expensive and because the temps don't get super cold, the road stay fairly good.

This is no longer true. They are no longer tied to a license plate or specific car. I’m not sure why it was changed.

I just leave it on the dash. Honestly I have the mustang on the same account as the one I have in my F150 so I don’t even have one.
