I've had the Goodyear F1 A/S and it had great traction in all weather down to the wear bars. I have been pondering the exhilarate.

In that list, I would go with the Contis. I am guessing you want a good all season tire, correct? I would recommend looking at the General G-Max AS07's as well. General is owned by Continental and they share a lot tech. I use them on my tuned Explorer ST and my Procharged 2016 GT (during the fall/winter/summer) and love them.

I have had the PS4's on my GTI in the past. Keep in mind, my n=1, but there was very little warning between "ya, these tires are still good" and "oh shit, I need new tires", even with what looked like a decent amount of tread left.

my GT has the RE980, the Audi DWS, and the M1 PS4AS. I've run the Conti on my departed Eco. The Conti is IMO that perfect mix. I just air them up a tad for best response.

Good info.

What I loved abut the Eagle F1 A/S was it kept very good traction till they were out of tread. Surprised me to be honest. I'd buy these again but they no longer make the model I liked. The Exhilarate is the new model and I don't like the reviews.

Sounds like the PS4's are out

My Son has these DWS on his SQ5, tuned, and he likes them. I reel him in up top but damn that thing hooks.

Are you set on all seasons or would you consider summer only? The DWS06+ is a really good all season, my dad has them on his GT and he really likes them. Does well in the snow up here too. I’ve driven it a few times and they hook pretty well. I generally think of all seasons as a jack of all, master of none but the DWS06’s do really well.

If you want to consider a summer only, the Conti Extreme Contact Sport02 is phenomenal and cheaper than the PS4S’s. Have heard good things about the SuperCar3’s but don’t have any personal experience with them.

Cooper used to make a pretty good performance all season tire but I haven’t bought a Cooper tire in several years.

SC3 are getting hard to find. As a summer tire in the dry, fan-fabulastic. Under heavy rain, they get a bit sketch because the tread depth is very shallow.

They are a very responsive tire and a nice, direct connection between steering wheel and tarmac.

I was looking at them over the winter and it did seem odd that the size selection was limited. Thought it was just a seasonal thing but maybe not?

the selection is very limited, that is correct.

check the Tire Rack website. They rate most tires. You can compare the tires to see how they are rated.

if you’re seeking a balance between performance and value, the Continental ExtremeContact DWS06 Plus is a compelling option.
