I love my GT350

But, after my new Porsche acquisition and spending a few weeks going back and forth between the two, I'm almost committed to selling the Shelby. I'm not getting any younger and I have four cars to fuss over and two houses to take care of, plus a disabled wife that takes some effort on my part.
If I do decide to sell, the next owner will get a great car and even a few extra goodies to go with the car.

Out of curiosity I ran it through Bluebooks buying website and they have a participating dealer that just so happens to be the dealer I bought the car from.
Blue book offered 48k for the car two weeks ago. The dealer followed up a few days after and advised that I should keep the car till the end of April and run it through Blue Book again. He said they should offer substantially more at that time and he went on to add that if the car is as I represented it to Bluebook that they'd offer more than Blue Book because they want the car.

So, we will see what happens. If I was filthy rich like some guys here on the forum, I'd keep the car just for the occasional joyride or car show.

I've learned that sometimes a simpler lifestyle is better.....and I really love that new Porsche.

100% agree on the simpler side of life. I was so close to buying a 718 GTS. But the R came about at the right time. I almost bought another R like Tomster but punked out last minute. For me one car is enough. If a 911 GT3 falls in my lap, my R is gone.

And, if you decide to let the GT350 go to a new owner, someone will be very happy to get it.

I have test driven a couple of gt3's now and I just cant see myself getting rid of the 350, if anything I am contemplating getting an R

the gt3 is not as analog, unless you get the manual version, which I haven't driven..

although the flat 6 revs to 9K, the voodoo crackles and pops and has more random sounds and sexy song than the perfekt efficient gt3 engine..

add to that the manual and I just cant see myself trading the 350 in for a gt3

(I also drive a 991.2S so already getting some Vitamin flat-6...)

Just love the rawness and sound/feel off the 350

Is it worth going for an R?

Yes. The R is worth it. Many base 350 owners have traded up to an R, including myself. All the things you like about the 350 is amplified with an R. The biggest difference is that the steering feels more alive which I would contribute to the lighter unsprung weight of the rims and tires. And Ford just nailed the looks of the R with the front splitter and rear spoiler, IMHO.

I am not sure how your roads are, but for me, even the GT350 is too stiff. This is where I have to do 70% of my driving, the whole neighborhood is like that.

The point is, unless you track your car the hell out of it or live in Italy where roads are better then most have dreamed on this forum,not worth upgrading to an R. I like to drive my car also around town.... I do maybe 2 - 3 track days a year, and the 350 does just fine. And brings a smile to my face still

I need a backseat and seatbelts and have baaad roads and love to drive it around town and although would love to track it, haven’t gotten around to it.

My favorite part is the engine and that’s not different (except for resonator free exhaust)
Would have been nice to find one at or close to msrp, at this point less clear it makes snense to me...

Yep, springs, lightweight wheels and Cup2s transform the steering feel to the point that it almost feels like a different car.

The only reason that I have two R's is because an opportunity presented itself and I had a track pack that had to go while it still had near full value. The plan was to sell the TY R towards the 500, but I'm rethinking the whole notion due to the delay of the 500 and the serious pay raise that should occur before the 500 is on the radar.
