I started a thread on this very subject and I will have to agree with you. I've driven my '04 F-150 since '05 never had a person beep at me or looked pissed off until i started driving My Mustang.

I'm not sleeping at the light or anything I just think people are jealous in these times where money is tight.. Like I said in my other thread, it sucks to be them.
I get the envy towards a sports car from a family suv/minivan driver but I dont get the envy towards money. Relatively speaking, Mustang is not an expensive car.

What I can't stand is when you are pulling off from a stop, and there's that little lag when you shift into second, it seems like people with automatics just stomp it from the get go, and run up on you at that point.

Just the fact that it's a new car makes it expensive for most people out there. The average age of a car on the street is 12 years.

Being 45 I got some flak about getting a Mustang. I get the "how can you fit kids in there" question. We don't have any yet, and when we do a car seat fits just fine. Plus this is my car, we have a Fusion as a "family" car. So it's not like I'd be taking the afamily across country in it. It is funny when I see dads in minivans checking the car out. My wife absolutely hates minivans so thankfully I know I'd never be driving one anyway! She wanted me to get the Mustang, and she loves driving it, looking at it, cleaning it. So we have a lot of fun doing things with the car together.
On the road I get the minivan stares as I said but I haven't had much in the way of negative reaction to my car.

letting someone pass is fine. but dont tailgate me then slow down after I've moved over. some people just want to be 1st in the pack then get scared of getting pulled over by cops

THIS!! I fucking hate this cause this crap happens to me all the time on the highway! It's usually with dad's in trucks that do that but the mom's in minivans do it too. They get real close, ill move aside if I can, they'll speed up while giving me "that" look", maintain speed or go even faster then slow down when we go over a overpass rise/decline in fear of the good ol local constables waiting for em on the other side. And if theirs not a cop and I start speeding back ahead, ill get "that" look again but even more nasty.
Its like a love/hate relationship with other drivers on the road :paddle:

This. Once, on a rural interstate, my kid announces he has to pee NOW. I bring it up to 80 to get to the nearest exit pronto and before long, cars are tailgating me in the left lane. After I pass the middle lane traffic, I pull over (but stay at the same speed) and the cars speed up to my 8 o'clock and stayed there for the next few miles (so I can't pull back over to the left lane, but I'm still "first" to the cops) to the exit. Six or seven cars in a row, all tailgating each other.

And this past weekend (my first with the Mustang), a minivan was tailgating me through a small rural town; I was doing a bit over 70kmh in a 60. At the intersection leaving town, it widens to two lanes before the intersection and then merges back to one lane about 75 yards after the lights. Waiting in the first position at the red light, the minivan pulls out into the merging lane beside me. Hmm... I ask my 15 year old son sitting beside me if a Mustang driver should ever allow a minivan take him and he said, "Um, no!" So, my break-in rules went out the window. I didn't want to be a complete a-hole, so I went a bit faster, but of course, they caught up and started to tail-gate me again. When there were two lanes, they gave me a dirty look as they passed me and then, of course slowed down and drove at same speed I was driving. Just as I knew they would.

i honk at anyone that's doing something wrong, it doesn't matter what they drive.
Worst is being the second car at the light, you need to turn right and the asshole in front of you won't budge an inch to let you turn until he can go 2 minutes later

Those people need a beating

My wife refuses to get into my Mustang.
1) she doesn't like the new car smell from the leather and plastic. she doesnt like to get into any new car because of that. She wants me to keep the windows open for a month while driving to air out the smell.
2) she says riding in a MT car makes her sick.

then she got mad at me for taking my car to the car wash when it wasn't even that dirty because I rarely took her car to the carwash :ninja:

similarly frustrating is when the person before you is too scared to make the turn, waits until the last sec before the light turns red, THEN makes a turn, leaving you waiting for another red light.

I had the opposite experience. I was behind a Corvette C5 Z06 this weekend for a few miles before we came to a set of lights where I needed to turn right. No turn lane, but I signalled early and he moved over to the far left side of his lane so I could squeeze through. Respect, I guess, since before he was going at the speed limit behind a Harley and I gave him a lot of space.

Those are the people who shouldn't be driving in the first place, the people who drive with hazards on the highway most likely

Manhattan would give them a heart attack, you need balls and nerves of steel and those puntas got no cojoneses, they'd be eaten alive

People like that are saints and also real drivers

I usually do that myself, if I catch myself forgetting though, I will inch up and make space.

Sometimes though, if they don't move but I still can squeeze through, I will while looking at the tool funny

Some variants are chick cars. Maybe a large portion of mustangs are grouped into this stereotype. I know my gf in high school was looking to buy a teal v6 vert as her first car.
