I did PPF on the front half of the car and on the wing and the black decklid panel. I did ceramic coating on the CF wheels and calipers. It really is fantastic.

I am considering a spray-on ceramic to go over the PPF; any thoughts on that?

What is the ballpark cost to have this done to your entire car (professionally applied ceramic coating)?

I use collinete polish, then collinete wax on top, I wonder if I can put the hybrid ceramic on top, my car is Shadow Black, stays in garage and gets waxed every other month.
Will I get greater shine and maybe prolong the time between waxes and just wash?

This is wildly variable, from hundreds to a couple thousand. If you have a Lamborghini it costs at least $5K.

this is one of the better shops here in southern California and a ceramic pro flagship store. the owner usually gives about 20% off also but here are his prices.

@Tomster if you put it on the R wheels I'm curious to hear how it holds up or helps with the brake dust.

General question on ceramic coatings - how long does a professionally applied finish last?
The good stuff 5 years min and up to 10 but most of the places said they'll inspect it at year 3 and if it needs a touch-up it's covered. I'm sure some of it has to do with how harsh the environment is (bitter cold, or blazing sun) and if garaged or not.

What is the ballpark cost to have this done to your entire car (professionally applied ceramic coating)?
$1000 is pretty standard eg. for Opti-coatPro. Modesta BC-04 is more like $1600 because it's a lot more time-consuming to apply. But that shop also quoted me 600 for paint correction. To be fair most places that do "paint correction" just focus their efforts on the problem spots and quote a couple hours worth of effort, whereas this other shop redoes the entire car regardless of glaring problems or otherwise.

The self-applied stuff is generally good for 6mo be it "paint sealer" or "ceramic" but if you're a regular DIY detailer I doubt it's much of an imposition. I wash my vehicles by parking them outside in the rain. Ok, my mustang I'll probably actually wash from time to time...

I've done a ceramic pro paint protection as well as prep and paint correction on my last R. It was actually my first time, but I was coached by a guy that does it for a living. He gave me a list of stuff I need to buy and told me how to do it.

It wasn't hard, just very time consuming... paint correction, that is. I've always been a type of person that likes to do stuff myself. I don't like paying anyone for anything, if I am capable of doing it.

Applying ceramic coating is easy... apply, wipe, wipe again and on and on you go. The results were awesome, especially since my R was black. I applied it to the stripes and also to the wheels. Sadly, I didn't get to keep my R for long to see how it'll hold up, but at the time, it was great.

Bought all the supplies from Shinesupply.com and the total cost was under 300$. As far as ceramic coating... there are a number of them out there... the one I used, which is very easy to apply and very forgiving is Gtechniq EXO v3... now they have a v4, it looks like. Little 50ml bottle will let you do 3-4 cars (2 coats per car).

I'm waiting for warmer weather so I can apply it all on my Raptor... and maybe an R, if I get one soon.
