Hi,

I'm doing some AC troubleshooting on my 2016 GT350 Tech I've owned since new. I can't find any leaks in the engine bay at fittings or the condenser and wanted to use a UV light on the AC drip line - hoping that if there is a significant evaporator leak that it might show up as a UV marker on the drip line.

I'm embarrassed to say that I cannot find the drip line, which is usually very easy to locate on a vehicle. Anyone have any pointers? I found a couple other folks that mentioned the AC dripping directly on the transmission - maybe the drip line ends right above the transmission? I know @honeybadger and @Muligan have had their transmissions out - hoping they might be able to help.

On a related note, the OEM workshop manual says its only 37 distinct steps to get the dash out to replace the evaporator assembly, so I've got that going for me :cwl:

Thanks all!

I don't recall ever seeing a drain. I looked through the service manual and didn't see a reference to it either.

That said, an AC failure is almost always the coil inside the car that requires removing the entire dash. My car had that and a few of my friends with the earlier cars (15-17) have to get theirs replaced as well.

Just to help you. I used my endoscope camera to get a look in there. Nice and dry and not blocked. Next plan is to decontaminate this area for me.

Thanks for posting that!! I forgot to respond back to this thread since I ended up not having to pull the climate control housing/evaporator out. Never ended up confirming or denying the drain location.

I'm sure your post will help others troubleshooting their A/C!
