Hi guys,

I recently got my Corsa X-pipe and wow what a difference it made in terms of sound. Now I don't know if the engine gained any power, since I didn't dyno it stock. The car still had 300miles on it.:headbang:

Anyhow, I was looking at the Stainless Works long tube headers, in off-road configuration. Aside for loosing cats and deleting the O2 sensor, would that impact in anyway the exhasut valves? From my limited understanding the valves are located near the final exhaust resonators, so changing the headers would not affect the valves function since the final part of the exhaust is still stock. Am I right?

If yes, I'm pulling the trigger on that SW and perfect the sound. Before anyone starts bashing, I wanted to keep the valves function since I think is pretty cool to have a normal, I call it civilized mode, and a Hoonigan mode

And from what I heard, those SW headers with Corsa X-pipe is one of the best tune out there. Not that bonkers but still very savage, and most important still keep the stock tune (if you know what I mean). Other full exhaust kits, including Kooks, Borla etc change the tune also. But alas different strokes for different bokes

Much appreciated for your inputs and suggestions.

The exhaust valves are located in the mufflers so they are not affected by any exhaust work that does not replace them. I would suggest you research the need for tuning after the header install. I don't know anything about the Kook's system but am aware that the Borla is a bolt on cat back system that does not replace the factory exhaust manifolds/headers or delete anybO2 sensors and requires no additional tune. First of all if even a single O2 sensor is taken out of the system your ECU will very likely throw a code and a tune will not correct this. And it's hard to imagine that a complete manifold replacement will not result in the need for a tune. This is especially true considering that just a simple cold air intake change requires tuning. Not saying what your information is incorrect only encouraging you to get a second opinion. It would really suck to install parts that may be suited more for track use and be in streetable. Good luck.

Well O2 sensors are needed only if the headers are catted or not. Since the off-road headers have no cats, from my understanding as others have said, the second O2 sensor has to be disabled to not throw off errors.

About the tune. I'm looking at Lund and I'd pull the trigger as soon as the headers arrive and I'm ready to install them. Am I too ?

The o2 sensors are needed or your car wont run right. The only ones than can be deleted albeit with a check engine light or the down stream o2 sensors. A tune or even maybe a forscan tweak can turn off the bank 1 and 2 sensor2 readings which are purely for emission reasons.

Yeah those were the ones I was talking about. Since clearly going catless will fuck up the emissions...

That is going to be SO loud...
That corsa alone is bokers. I swear everything stops when it's in Loud mode. The passenger stops speaking, even I stop speaking, and The people on the street are left in awe. That sound is so intoxicating and addictive...

I believe the Stainless Works headers to come with their own X-pipe, which would negate the use of your Corsa unit. Probably better to look at the Kooks headers that can be gotten without an X-pipe so that you can mate it up to your Corsa x-pipe perhaps.

I don't think that is true. Even sw says it mates up with factory exhaust and they have a pic with the stock midpipe of the gt350. Also there is a youtube video with sw headers and corsa xpipe

Your right, I looked up the SW unit, and with the off road legs they must bolt up directly to the factory X pipe. I was forgetting that the factory catback and x-pipe is all one solid piece; you had to cut your stock catback to slip on the corsa unit right?
