Winter tires make a huge difference in not just the snow but traction in the wet, and very cold dry days. My 245 Blizzaks have more grip on a dry 30* day than my P-Zeros in the same temps. They also don't hop constantly in the rain.

I'm beating a dead horse here, but with winter tires and careful driving the Mustang is just fine. Or at least it has been for me so far. Ask again in 2-4 months.

Cool video, thanks. Those tires are sick! I'm more confused than ever trying to figure out advanc trac sport mode does.

Well just had my first go in a real snow, and overall I'm very pleased with the car. It's been almost twenty years since my last RWD car and it didn't take long to get a feel for driving in snow again.

I had Blizzaks put on before I took delivery last week. The tires held traction the entire time (mix of city, highway, and rural roads with plenty of hills). I had it in Snow/Wet mode at first, but honestly don't think I needed it at all. It really just felt like it was getting in my way. I'm thinking it was probably programmed for folks who don't know any better than to mash the throttle all the time.

Got some driving in last night before the snow became too deep. We are right in the heaviest part of the blizzard. Luckily I have Blizzaks! There was about 6" on the ground when I drive around. Snow mode + the Blizzaks gives great traction. Snow mode really clamps down on the rear sliding around at all, pretty impressive. Of course sport mode is more fun [emoji41]

Be careful when the snow really starts to drift. During the last big snow storm, I had a Corvette pass me when the plows had not yet cleared the roads. Pretty stiff winds had started to make sizable drifts. The yellow Vet zoomed past my 4x4 truck. As he got about 1,000 feet ahead of me, all of a sudden I saw a huge blast of snow. As I got closer, I found the Vet with its hood up and its owner hand scooping out an engine compartment full of snow.

Haha...that's crazy. My GT is tucked away in the garage now. The snow is about 2.5ft deep so I'm not going anywhere.

Same. Mine is sleeping in the garage next to the IS250. The IS250 is AWD but I rather take my son's truck out (2000 Dodge Dakota 4x4) just in case some @sswipe hits me.

Leesburg got hammered!!!! We have a little over 12".

Everyone drove RWD cars in the winter up into the 80's and did just fine. Back in 78 I drove home from work during the infamous "Blizzard of 78" in my AMC Hornet X and the car drove through 10" of snow with ease. The rest of the week that the state was shut down I was shuffling people between police stations for the local police in my 2WD pickup with snow tires and a load of snow in the bed. While in college I plowed snow part time in a 2WD pickup.

Last winter I drove my new Mustang through the worst winter in Boston's recorded history. I can tell with the confidence that the Mustang with a good set of winter tires and snow mode is better in the snow and slop than a FWD car on all season tires.

The key is winter tires they make all the difference in slippery conditions.
