Hi guys,

First post - please be gentle :) I'm in Australia and am searching for a Bullitt with Magneride. Bullitt comes standard with Magneride, however several I have enquired about do not have Magneride, as the owners opted not to have it installed.

I read somewhere that you can tell if it has Magneride by the black cap on the top of the strut tower. The photo I have attached is from a guy who says his Bullitt does have Magneride, but I want to compare it to a Mustang strut which does NOT have Magneride so I can tell the difference, however I cannot find any close up pics of non Magneride strut towers.

Does any one have a close up photo of a non Magneride so I can see the difference please?

Thank you

Can't help you on the positive identification of Magneride, but I can tell you my 18 GT PP1 Non Magneride has that same black cap on top of the strut, so that isn't something you can use to differentiate.

Thanks mate. Ok, well that does help me a bit. I saw one which definitely did have Magneride, and it had some wire looped around inside the cup, just under the cap. But this one has no wire, but the guy swears it has Magneride. Problem is the car is too far away to go and view it. I might be able to tell from underneath the car. Will do some more research on what to look for...

I'd have to imagine that there would be a wiring harness at the shock itself behind the wheel? Can he give you a photo with the front wheel off?

Actually, can't you just get the VIN and have Ford run it to verify?

Window sticker? If he doesn't have it, can you get the VIN and look one up. Or ask him to remove a wheel and take pictures of the strut.

Thanks. I might try the VIN method and see what Ford says. I saw that other thread, but it turns out some models have that screen message and some models don't so it's not clearly definable. See what Ford say about the VIN numbers. Cheers

No wire harness going into each shock and strut = no magneride. Some people just have no clue.
Look on top of the rear shock. There is a wire exiting above the shock mount. Easy to check.
