Car was in a rear fender bender with previous owner. Any one with body work experience know to minimize/fix the gap between trunks and taillights as seen? Trunk always looks slightly open even when latched close due to this. I check the arms that hold trunk open and both seemed even.

Any advice would be appreciated.

Tail lamps look good. You need to adjust the latch striker down so it holds the lid closed at a lower point. This will probably involve removing some interior trim to access the bolts that hold it to the body so you can adjust it.
if you're not confident with it on your own, any body shop can do this. My only concern is the previous damage you speak of. There may not be any adjustment left.
