Hey everyone,

Just wondering if any of you have the same issue as I do (i will post a pic of it later when I get to my car)

Basically, I noticed that the left bottom side of my decklid panel doesn't sit flush with the left tailight (while the right side sits perfectly aligned). I removed the 7mm screws and pry the panel off the top a bit in hopes of making adjustments, but there's minimal to no wiggle room.

Anybody else?

My 2020 is defo not perfect in that area …

However, it’s better than the extreme alternative (front trunk edge to far forward to compensate for the back) :

Whoever aligned mine defo concentrated on getting the front edges fitting perfectly, at the expense of the rear …

Mine are both more like the 1st pic than the second. Knowing how that thing is attached, count your blessings its even that good.

really eh? sheeee....well problem is I'm pretty OCD, so if I HAD to, I'd rather have both look like the first pic haha

They’ve had this issue on my 2016. Exactly. Guess what. My 2021 has it also. I fixed my 2016 with a rubber washer on the taillights outermost attachment post. This shimmed the taillight out to meet the lip of the tail panel. I’ll be repeating this fix on my 2021.
it’s really common.

Hmm that makes sense…can you take some pics and post it here when you get around to it?

If you watch the gap at the top of the tail panel as it spans the trunk lid you’ll notice it’s pretty straight.
if you look at the left tail light though, it isn’t as far out to the outside edge of the bumper as the right side.
Once you build up the post with a washer on the tail light post as it makes contact with the outer portion of the trunk mounting point, you’ll see it leave it out enough to meet with the tail panel once you tighten it down. You may have to adjust the washer size… I’m like you… OCD.

I fixed the left / right alignment on mine by tweaking the trunk catch. It only took a little to make it look a lot better but I’m not sure that option is available to you. Your trunk lid to rear fender gaps look similar where mine were off by the same amount as the deck lid panel. I could see my trunk shut nicely until the latch secured it and it pulled it over a little - easy and quick fix.

Have you seen your left front edge trunk lid to to C pillar height compared to the right ? I wonder if lifting that a little would tuck the back edge in a bit ?

I have resisted moving my trunk lid hinges as it will disturb the paint on the mounting bolts - I’m still trying to decide which is easier for me to live with i.e. slightly misaligned deck lid v hinges that have obviously been moved.

I am delaying the final decision until I’ve fitted the blank decking panel that’s waiting on the garage …

My decklid sits out about a 1/4” from the tail light. I considered adjusting the tail light to get it lined up. Talked to a few friends and the conclusion is.. it’s a “Birthmark”. Leave it alone.

Mine is not the first one that I saw the same issue. Others I looked at were the same.

If your trunk otherwise lines up well, try my fix. It’s practically free, simple and easily reversible.

It's so simple it's stupid. It's all in the LH tail light.
