How to disable SYNC3 speed restricted functions

Does anyone find the speed restricted functions in the SYNC3 make it useless when driving? Even for the passenger. You cannot make navigation changes or change the USB audio file changes unless you stop. Many SYNC3 functions become greyed out when moving over a certain speed. I found out when driving a long distance on freeway. I have read there is a setting that can be changed using ODBII but cannot find any info.

The lockout on Spotify from within CarPlay is quite annoying. You cant' scroll very far in playlists when the car is in motion. So then you have to grab your phone, unlock it, and scroll from the phone. Silly.

It works fine as long as your not moving. If you have to search or change navigation, you have to pretty much stop. I have seen this on other Ford vehicles.

I have read that you can you can use Forscan with odb ii but I have not been able to locate where.

I've never seen lockouts more aggressive than Ford; that's crazy. But the way around that is to store navigation destinations before you leave; then you can recall them while moving. I usually just put my Spotify list in 'shuffle', and don't have any issues. Having said that, the only solution is to set Sync 3 to the UK market via FORScan, but that changes navigation symbols, some functions, and most importantly, disables 'auto 911 calling' in case of an accident. I changed it on my ex-2018 F-150 Platinum, but put it back to stock after the changes were more annoying than leaving it as it was. Don't remember the FORScan code for that, but it can be looked up at the F150forum website.

Could do that but it is also audio. On last drive thru couple of states, my reception was limited. I have usb drive with all my downloaded music. If is selected an artist, SYNC only let me scroll thru that artist. I found out I had to stop to change. Sucks!

I have over 100 cd's on a usb. I push the voice button and request an artist or a song and it plays it

I have all sorts of playlists I've built in Spotify over the years. I can't get to 75% of them through CarPlay because the damn thing is locked. First world problems, I know. It's just frustrating to have your car interface dictated by lawyers.

This is my car I paid for it ! I should be able to decide what I want or don’t! could you imagine you had a house built then told you couldn’t install a side by side fridge?

It is frustrating, but I haven't found any way to defeat it. If
anyone ever posts a fix I'll do it. Till then I just found it less frustrating to talk to the car. And at 60 it wasn't easy learning to talk to my car felt like an idiot for a few months
