I recently installed a Ford power pack 2 to my 15’ GT. But like many, I’m craving for more hp gains. What are somethings I can do to add more hp without going with a different set up? Or is it possible to do so?

cover over your windows so visibility is like a Camaro and put your seat as low as it can go on the floor. You'll feel like you're flying. Or just use more throttle for longer and pick better gears?

You can do the GT350 manifold and it will run fine with the PP2 tune.

You won't get the full gains of the mod since you can't rev to it's peak, but it will help a bit even to the 7200rpm redline.

Other than that, not much in terms of raw power.

You can get steeper gears which will help with acceleration and can be adjusted for free in the Ford flash tool you already have.

I know exactly what you aretalking about: the only way to get the power you crave is to put on a supercharger and that is exactly what you will need to do . No other modification is going to give you the biggest hit to satisfy .

Take it off for a Whipple kit. That's what I'm doing. 😁

You could get a custom tune, if you can find someone who will tune an 87 mm throttle body. But won't get you much maybe 8-10hp. Then there is the GT350 intake manifold, or a ported 18+ manifold. The gains are virtually identical but the 18+ mani is cheaper and it allows you to keep your IMRC valves operational. and of course long tubes. If you go with headers, you will need a tune to turn off the CEL and HP tuners is the only device that can access the proprietary ford racing tune. (I found out the hard way) If you also get cams and bigger injectors and an E-85 tune you could be knocking on the door of 500 whp

BTW I'm at 425 whp with a stage 2 pack running the ford racing tune, long tubes, x pipe on 93

Ugh , a custom tune does not always mean better or more power. FP has pretty much gotten all you can out of that setup with their calibration. I'd love to see an example of someone getting that HP gain with a non E85 email tune utilizing the FP PP2 components.

Ive just gone down this route.. Had the PP2 install for a few years on my 2015 GT. wanted a bit of extra, especially in the rev range extension.
I installed the GT350 Intake manifold and had a local tuner make a full Dyno with HP tuners tune.
Realized almost 40 HP increase @ 6800 rpm and extended the rev range to 7500.

I haven't taken the car on track yet for a comparison of gear changes and lap times, but I'm expecting to hold gears longer and fuller through sections of the lap.

Dyno runs, before and after below..

I was just throwing a guess out there based on the JLT intake tube claims a 30+ hp gain with a tune using the stock 80 mm TB. Ford only claims 23 whp for the stage 2 kit on 91, so it tells me there is more in there.

Throw on a set of long tubes and you could be around 440-445. I have the stage 2 with long tubes and an x-pipe and I got 425 on 93 octane. I still have the stock 15-17 intake manifold.

Mike,
All in good time.. Power adding are the last mods.
I have a shopping list.! $2k+ for LTH and tune is the next step, then another $2k+ on Cams & Tune...

Every time the car comes back in one piece from the track it gets a present  Its also my daily driver 🙂

Already completed: Aero front & rear, Full coilovers, race pads, brake ducting, sway bars & links, suspension & frame stiffening, Harness etc...

If your going to regularly push it beyond 7000 rpm, look into a set of billet oil pump gears and a billet crank sprocket. 7000 rpm seems to be the limit for the stock parts, they may not fail at first but you on borrowed time if you regularly exceed 7K A good time to install these is while your having the cams installed as you have to pull the front cover and timing chains for both jobs anyway so do them both at the same time.

Back to the OP question. As already stated, the PP2 option from Ford is a good improvement over stock (power, pick-up and response), however as it is a warranty covered install and tune, maybe they haven't exhausted every ounce out of it.. They only way to go forward that I see, is to have a custom tune which may stretch your numbers a little...

If you have the 2015 PP 6 Spd with 3.73 gearing, it does have its limitations as far as performance. Great through the rev range in the lower gears, but unlike the 2018+ the 1:1 ratio is 5th instead of 4th.. So on a long track or driving at speed, the 6500 rpm limit can run out of puff...

2015
1st. 3.657
2nd. 2.430
3rd. 1.686
4th. 1.315
5th. 1.00
6th. 0.651

2018+
1st. 3.24
2nd. 2.2
3rd. 1.42
4th. 1.00
5th. 0.81
6th. 0.62

No point in custon tune for just this setup. But, if adding long tubes, injectors and e85, then definitely a different car and requires custom tune obviously.

Hey mate,

I have long tubs and installed the stage 2 with the software. Would I need to tune the car again if I have the tubs?
