I've got a '15 with a Gen 3 Whipple and a JLT catch can. In somewhere between 2-3k the car has used a quart of oil. Still need to check the catch can.

In runs great and doesnt smoke so I'm not paniced yet. I'm curious if this is inline with the norm?

That's about where mine is. 30k miles on the motor thus far.
Great news. Looks like I need to step up my oil checkin!

3k miles since Whipple stage 1 gen 3 install, probably 50 or so pulls including dyno time, oil is still on the full mark. No catch can installed.

Using 5W50 as per Whipple instructions, 18k miles total on the car, Whipple kit installed at 15k miles, Whipple tune, occasionally driven but usually only sees track outings/ect.

I'm wondering when Whipple started reccomended 5-50. I'm relatively certain my manual calls for OEM weight.

I just installed an 11:1 aluminator and ford performance recommends 5W-50

This was a huge debate back when I ordered my kit (November 2018). When I began installation in Feb 2019, the instructions I had stated to use 5W50.

Indeed, the older instructions did not. No idea why the change. So far no issues whatsoever, and hasn't visibly used any oil. Not saying it would stop a consumption issue, but for me no problems. I have no catch can, the car is entirely stock less the Whipple Stage 1 kit.

I have 12K miles on my whipple GT making @750 wheel and I use about a quart every 3k miles as well. I use AMSOIL signature 5-30. I wish it didn't use any, but it runs well never smokes and catch can has no oil in it just water crap.

Got the Roush SC when my car had 22km, now it has around 1200km and used no oil at all. Same measurements from day of install to yesterday.

I had the Roush SC installed right around 850 Miles, which had the oil replaced to 5W50 when completed. At that time I added a bottle of CeraTec to the oil as well. The car is now around 8000 miles.
I just checked the oil last week. Two things about the oil:
  1. It was still at the full mark.
  2. The color was slightly darker than new.
I am not sure how or why a supercharged 5.0 coyote is running so cleanly, but i'll take it! I am also going to keep running Fords oil as well.

17, Gen 3 stage 2 Whipple and 750whp. Boosted for 38,000kms or 23,000 miles and oil changed every 5000km or 3100mi. Many 8000rpm roll races in between oil changes and oil barely drops below full line. Catch can is usually half full every 3 oil changes or so. Oil is Amsoil Signature Series 5W30. Also every oil change a sample is sent off for analysis and at 45,000kms there is zero abnormal wear.

I keep meaning to send an oil sample in but never feel like messing with it when the time comes.

So I contacted Whipple and they recommended 5w50 going forward. Thanks for brining it to my attention!

Whipple recommended 5w50 for all coyotes or just 18 up.
