Well, see, it’s like when my kids tell me they’re full at dinner and 5 minutes later they are scooping a bowl of ice cream. “But dad, it’s a different stomach for dessert....it doesn’t count”.

I figure I have a “Mustang wallet”.

How much money have you spent on your Mustang?

The total can include the purchase price + mods, any combination in between, rough estimates, exacts, approximates, whatever.

I was counting up how much I've spent since 2018. I landed around $27,382.37 (not including the purchase price). I love my car but it makes me a little physically ill thinking about it:crackup:.
Car plus taxes $29546.00 bought Oct 2019 used but mint.
Stuff $3261.06
These numbers are in CDN dollars which is worth about $.70 US dollar, also have to pay shipping, broker fees and 15% Federal/Provincial taxes on parts from the states, so it makes the hobby in Canada significantly more expensive. I track this on a spreadsheet.

Bought my car used back in ‘18 for $26,500. Spent a hair over $11k in mods.

I'm the other end of the scale and keep track of every penny....

Sticker $40,385
Out the door with tax and tags $36,587

Actual spent on mods $3,177.65
Value of mods $14,642.51

The value of mods is to make me feel better because of smart shopping... for example paid $1,201 delivered for my almost-new PP2 wheels when the cheapest new price I could find was $2,800.

I did most of the work myself but don't count labor cost savings. Too much of a moving target.
Same here. I too keep track of everything and have done all the work myself. And 90% of the time, I’ll wait until a big sale comes up and then buy a truck load of parts haha.

Its been a little over a year that I've had this car.
28K for the car and about 7K in mods. Haven't even touched the motor yet.
I don't like thinking about it but I wouldn't change a thing.

I'll post pics as soon as I get it back from the shop and return from vacation. I'll have it out on VIR in a couple weeks for the first time since getting the Ohlins on and will give an update as well.

I have a folder that I keep all my receipts in for all my mods, in case I have a problem or want to return. I never add up the total spent, lol. That would ruin the fun of modding! How many here can hear a UPS truck from two blocks away?

$47,677 for the car (2019 401A PP convertible with active exhaust)
$1,200 to ship it to me
$3,582 for wheels and tires
$4,144 for a GT350R brake & half shaft kit
$7,899 for supercharger kit (currently backordered)

It'll cost me about 10 hours of shop time to get the supercharger installed when it arrives. And I can sell the take off PP wheels/tires and brakes.

No regrets at all.
