How many seconds from 60-130 can you do? How many secs should a 840WHP Mustang do? Have a draggy?

Good luck! I want to see it. I’m shooting for 4.80’s in the spring sometime. A little more refining and another 130lbs removed.

funny thing, on my 9.53 pass down the 1320, the 60-130 was 5.42.
Appreciate it! We finally have boost weather and hopefully better da down here in FL so time to get good at some drag(g)y 🤣 runs and then see what it does at the track also. Also helps the tranny has been beefed up a bit, now just time to find the elusive driver mod that is a must.

4.4 with a g3X? How much boost and what does the da look like? Just curious because my buddy has a g3X and I believe this is the fastest I’ve seen from one of these blowers.
Yes G3X on the 100mm. DA was 1200ish. Its been 9.3@153 in October.

What tires? Did you do a burnout before? Ive been having traction problems while trying to get into the 4s
ET Street SS, third gear start at 50. No burnout needed.

With my 17 MT82 Whipple car in 3000+DA I did a best of 5.7 60-130. I had 3.55 rear gears and full weight car. Made about 850-870whp. In my 10R Whipple car, little better DA I've been a best of 6.1 on pump gas and 690whp. The 10R just completely cheats...lol

Trick is to almost find the lug point of the setup at lower speeds, and let the engine pull into the powerband so you maintain maximum weight transfer. Here’s an example. This was on 275/40/19 555Rll’s.

HOW DID YOU GET THOSE TO HOOK? Im spinning all over the place with a 285/35/19 nitto r2

Suspension setup?

For starters a 275/40 has a full inch more sidewall than a 285/35. I'm also curious what else Cory has done to put it to the ground though...

Proper camber for flat tire patch under load, BMR drag springs, subframe alignment dowels. 3.15 gear and ramped timing from 16-21° (4000-7950)

Wow I wish I had known that when buying them, the larger sidewall does what for traction? Pls help me I don't know much about the differences besides the width

You're saying the 275 is better than the 285 because of the tire height?

19BULLITTwhipple,

The sidewall of the tire is very important for traction, the softer and higher it is, the more it will flex under load. As the sidewall flexes, it takes up some of the 'shock' that the engine is putting to the tires themselves. That's why some people recommend the 'Bias Ply' MT R's for stick shift cars, over the normal SS and R radial design.

I'm sure that some of the engineers on this site can explain all of the force actions and how that applies to the grip under load, but that's far above my pay-grade!!!

ENJOY!!!

Jerry said it well. Side wall is great for straight line traction. Wider, lower profile will shine in cornering more with the right set up. They all have their place but you need to know what you are trying to achieve with your build.

I’ve got a twin turbo manual s550 was looking for a street tire to hook from a 60. I have boost by mph so if I can get it to hook low I’ll be good.

haven’t gotten the build finished but when I had a gen 5 whipple at 16 psi with a 285/35/19 I was spinning everywhere.

im in Cali I didn’t want to put a radial on for rolls. I’m already a target for cops in the mustang

Is your car a BULLITT? Anything that enhances cornering will usually reduce weight transfer to the rear under power. A stock base GT suspension setup (minus stock spec rear camber) will yield the best straight line weight transfer. Cars that have been lowered, use stiffer shocks, stiff low profile 19-20” wheel setups etc, will usually not hook very well.
