What tires are you using? Any tips on how you got it to hook? Nice run.Took advantage of some better then usual da and was able to run a new pb. Finally got this thing to hook.
Et Street R’s. I was chasing “traction issues” all year and it was the rear tires the whole time. When the street r’s surface is no longer smooth and balls up, the tires don’t work nearly as well. This run was done on some fresh tires with a little bit of heat in them. What tires are you using? Any tips on how you got it to hook? Nice run.
I noticed the same thing. Sucks that they only work for a few runs then turn bad. Havent tried a huge burnout to clean them off though, idk if that would work but then their lifespan would still suck due to requiring big burnouts any time you want to hook on the street.Et Street R’s. I agree I keep them around 17-18 psi. It wasn’t till I finally threw on a buddies set of tires that were smooth that all my traction issues seemed to disappear. My theory is that I’m not heating up the tires enough before a pull. I usually drive like 3-4 miles and jump on the highway to test. Now I’ve been doing a small pull to 130 before any pulls and the tires seem to be working good and staying smooth. These tires are too expensive to be doing burnouts all the time lol.I noticed the same thing. Sucks that they only work for a few runs then turn bad. I actually have had the best luck with all seasons surprisingly, dws06+
What PSI were you running in the MT's?
I’m having the same issue with the Street R’s. They were good for maybe 300 miles and got feathered. They still hook but not as good which has slowed my 60-130. Did doing a big burnout help or are the tires useless when feathered?I agree I keep them around 17-18 psi. The burnout defintely helped. I might of actually lit them up a little too much. It was cold out and I wanted to make sure they stuck. I’ve read that a good water burnout gets them smooth again.I’m having the same issue with the Street R’s. They were good for maybe 300 miles and got feathered. No weight added. I used to add 3 40lb salt bags to the rear and it defintely helps. I even feel a difference just having a passenger. What do you have your shocks settings set to? One thing that also helped big time was the Kelltrac front adjustable struts.I’m gonna try that out since I typically only do a quick second gear pull to clean the tires before my run. Did you add any weight in the trunk? I’ve had to add up 150lbs to hook and while it works it stills slows me down on top end.
Good choice in shops!I had my shop Rare Fab Performance set them up I don’t remember though. Your TT though so ramping in the boost must be a lot easier to manage than 20 psi on the hit with the Whipple. I’m strongly considering selling the Whipple since the only cars I’ve seen do high 3s on the street 60-130 are turbo cars. I’ve only been able to do 4.7 and 4.4 60-130 & 100-150.
