How long for a VIN?

I ordered on 6/4 and no VIN yet. My dealer said that the regional rep said that 3 allocations had been pulled for our region, and mine wasn't one of them. That was 3 weeks ago. I was hoping to get the car by Halloween.....now I'm thinking I will be lucky to get it by Thanksgiving!

For those of you that have ordered your cars and gotten a VIN... how long did that take?

Probably more relevant to get info from guys with recent orders.

My financing pre-approval only lasts 60 days through the local credit union and I will need to get them the VIN or it will expire.

I ordered an R model on July 9th and got my VIN on August 25th so obviously very lucky based on what I can see for others on here?

Just got notification today that the scheduled production date for my car is the week of October 5th but I am sure that will get pushed out?

Getting your VIN / building the car really doesn't have anything to do with when you ordered it. It has to do with when your particular dealer's allocation is scheduled for. You should ask your dealer to ask their Ford Rep if they have visibility on what quarter they'll be able to fulfill that particular allocation. They may / may not have visibility on that yet.

My allocation is for 1/1/2016. I'm guessing I won't see the car until late March/early April.

wow! im shocked by this. having just placed my order 3 days ago, i got excited only to feel likeits too soon for any of that.

I'm not shocked at all to be honest. My region is pretty low priority from my understanding.

Look at the bright side, you can save for a bigger down payment if that's what you're doing and won't have to worry about the worst of winter during shipment and picking it up!

Ordered mine June 2nd. Changed the color/stripes last week from AG/Blue stripes to DIB/Black stripes. No VIN yet.

I ordered yesterday and have a priority number of 19, judging by this maybe I'll get a VIN by this time next year.

You should be fine... at least they have a secured allocation for you. And then the Regional Head will assign a P# once he/she pushes it forward in the queue... my 2016 (which I'm still undecided on since my 2015 is forthcoming) started off as Priority 99 back in early June and just over a week ago it got a VIN #.

Don't wish to create a firestorm and admit I'm pretty ignorant but would seem to me you want at least some priority code listed. Stated on previous threads that a DORA can be issued without an approved allocation and don't know if that is true but reasonable as it is only an acknowledgement that an order was sent, not confirmation of an allocation. Happy to be proven wrong however.

anyone receive an email from Ford "WBDO Order Summary"?

its says preview order, list all the specs and cost and the only thing different than I have seen on previous docs is the priority is now 01, it had been 60 and then 10 prior to this notification. No word from my rep yet on what that means.

Wasn't that a VOC and the DORA was the confirmation that Ford accepted the VOC?
