Not for all the impatient folks! By then they'll be cruising around in a Dodge or Chevy and come time for the Mustang to go on sale will really begin to regret it.:headbonk:
Oh I'm super impatient, however for a 40k + decesion I can wait. If you can't you have too much cash ;)

Looks like I have an answer. 3 to 4 weeks. We should know by the pushed back May 20th order banks open date.

The final pieces of the puzzle are about here. :)

Now for this a plea to Ford…

When asked whether automatics will be able to be purchased with the Brembo package and/or dash gauges, his response -- Ford is not releasing those details yet.
FORD: If you are lurking here at the site PLEASE let automatic GT owners have the option of ordering a Brembo brake package with gloss black wheels and the dash gauges. You will have my order on these. PLEASE make it so. :)

Me as well. It will still be a fat pig though. And I have a feeling pricing will be at the old SRT8 level which means starting at $45K (or more).

485 HP is tempting with that nice interior.
The bare base Shaker alone is $37,500. You're easily looking at $47K with the 392.

I cant find the article but one car review blog asked a Ford Exec when they were going to release information on the Mustang. The Ford exec said they were going to hold out as long as possible and then he joked and said he would like to release the specs the day before it went on sale.

I read the comments below the article and it appeared a couple of people that worked at Ford responded and they made comments that they wanted to leave the specs as a guessing game for Chevy. The longer they held out the better it was for Ford as to not give Chevy a clear benchmark. There were also statements on the same article about Ford waiting long enough for Chevy to have to finalize their engine and start testing before Ford released specs...

I cant find the article and I dont know how legitimate the comments were but it did make sense at the time.

True and I think you are close to the mark. They will have a NON-Shaker 392 RT. This one may be closer to current 2014 Core SRT8 pricing in the low $40's. You are correct though I think a lot of people are going to think they are going to get a 485 HP Scat Pack RT for upper $30K's. NO way is that going to happen. I also can't see these dropping ANY weight and probably gaining with the added content they are incorporating. I foresee 4300-4400 pound optioned out 392 ScatPack Shaker RT's. That is a LOT of flab.

Yup. I remember reading that too, it was Dave Pericak I recall.

Sorry but Ford really dropped the ball today! They have been building interest on the perception that there would be info released today and nothing? Wait 3 to 4 more weeks, that's really a weak performance I hope the car performs better than their PR dept.

We waited this long what's 3-4 more weeks. Hopefully all the delay was Ford dialing in the specs to its fullest potential.

I'm just glad we got some kind of timeframe (thanks to the admin). It sucks not having any idea whatsoever.

I'm sorry but if Ford's main reason for stalling the release of specs is to try to prevent the Camaro from one-upping them next year, that's just lame. I have no way of knowing if there's any truth to this idea, but as a Ford fan/shareholder, it'd be embarrassing if it's true. It doesn't show a great deal of confidence in your product if you think that 3 or 4 more weeks of additional time is enough for your competition to beat you in terms of performance, weight, etc.

And it doesn't have much logic to it anyway. If all Chevy needs is another 4 weeks or whatever with this information to build a better Camaro, then what's to stop them from simply pushing back the Camaro timetable by a month once this information is inevitably released?

Now in Ford's defense. Dodge has announced that their 392 Hemi will be packing 485 HP & 475 TQ for the 2015 Challenger Scat Pack editions. It states preliminary numbers but if Ford was waiting to see that Dodge gets a 15 HP & 5 TQ bump they may be able to wiggle a little more than that for the Coyote.

Personally I hope the Coyote matches that 15 HP increase at least and matches it with at least a 10 TQ bump from 420/390 to at least 435/400. Wishful thinking of course. At this stage of the game I am more concerned about pricing. Makes for a long 3 to 4 weeks. :(

Well at least we have a somewhat definitive timetable. That's a start.

It's just a tactic, and for every tactic there is a counter measure. And the competition is strong, Government Motors make good products too. Hopefully we get our specs soon, and they are impressive :ford:

... I just don't get it. To me, it doesn't matter if the new mustang is made of pure 24 karat gold and has 1000HP. I won't order/buy a car without the TEST DRIVE. Why are you all so impatient? It's not that big of a deal.. the dang car won't be on the Dealer lot until late this year. I'm not spending $40k+ without a test drive.
