How Long Before Order Shows In Cotus

Maybe this has been asked and covered already so forgive me if it has. How long after you place your order does it typically take Cotus to begin showing you a tracking log?

For me it showed up about 14 days or so after I ordered.

My first order, I ordered on a Saturday and it was there on Monday.

My current order, I ordered this past Saturday and it's not there yet and I'm getting nervous.

I did not. After your recommendations about the situation and a little research I found what you said to be true and am very grateful for you steering me away from said dealer. Went around to a couple more dealers, but ultimately went with Riverhead. My wife was explaining the situation to a patient of hers and he actually is good friends with the shelby specialist out there in Riverhead. After a few phone calls and emails we had everything set up and was no hassle with xplan or anything at all. The whole situation was smooth and he had everything ready to go before I got there. All I had to do was show up with a deposit, which was $500 refundable, as opposed to the $1000 non refundable that Smithtown wanted. I'm glad you steered me away from that place, had I found out after that fact I may have lost several nights sleep. Thanks SAL!!

Wait, what was said about Smithtown? My original order (on June 20 that I cancelled last week) was from Smithtown, and I was extremely disappointed with them. I re-ordered from Sayville this weekend.

Just about their bad reputation and such. A lot of unhappy customers, and the dealership actually has a rating of F from the better business bureau. Funny because I went to Sayville as well and almost ended up going with them because that guy Jack Frost is extremely knowledgeable, helpful, legit, and down to earth. Only thing I didn't like was that the dealership seemed to be a little cocky over all and refused to allow X-Plan purchases. Granted they have the right to be though as they are the top selling Mustang dealer in the area, and they have a rating of A from the better business bureau.

PS no surprise that you were disappointed with Smithtown. Care to elaborate on the situation? Would love to hear what happened there, and who was your sales person also? Curious..

It depends on when your dealer submits the order. My order showed up on Cotus within an hr of it being submitted.

About Smithtown: I ordered in June, they wouldn't take X-Plan or any dealer discounts, which I didn't care about, agreed to pay full MSRP. They told me then (in June) that cars would probably be coming in January. In like August I emailed them and called to make a minor change on my order -- just adding a spare tire -- and it took two emails and about six phone calls before anybody actually got back to me. I called them numerous times in September / October to find out when / if my order was going to be scheduled for production, and nobody ever got back to me. It wasn't until after I cancelled my order that the sales manager called me to say he'd try to speak to his regional manager about getting the car scheduled and he'd call me right back. That was last Friday, and I've called three times since then -- nobody called me back. Emailed again today about when I might see my deposit refunded; haven't heard anything.

See it was reading multiple stories and reviews like this that made me to heed to Sals warning .. After the reviews I've read not surprised at your situation and hopefully you get your money back without a hassle.
