I've got a 2018 and I'm shocked at some of the paint issues that are occurring on this car compared to my past few vehicles.

With the COVID-19 driving down time I spent about a week doing a clay, compound, polish and 5 coats of ceramic hybrid. So every imperfection is really showing up. I've go a spot or two where it looks like something is under the paint and more chips than I've gotten on cars with a 100,000 more miles.

Otherwise it looks amazing. I'm just bummed it's a premium paint option and seems so fragile. It chips easy and bubbles up from underneath.

I had a 2017 GT before my 2019 GT PP2. Both black.
From the get-go, in 2015, these mustangs have had a questionable reputation for paint quality, and it seems to have continued up until now.
Both my 2017 and now my 2019 have had little specs of debris here and there, from the factory.
On my 2019, on my front right fender, about 8 inches under the 5.0 emblem, there is like a 2mm overall size of debris. This is a brand new car too, no paintwork. I also checked seams and trim for masking marks and overspray for signs of this showroom car being repainted (you'd be surprised how often cars get damaged during transport or even on the lot; dealer does the repairs, sells as a new car, and the customer never knows repairs have been made, because virtually noone requires this to be disclosed to the customer).
Anyway, I checked the car out and saw these specks of debris before I bought it, so I took delivery knowing where the flaws were. It's all part of the ownership experience of these cars, it appears. And I'm not one to ask the dealer to fix these issues, as some have done - I'd much rather have the original paint if possible.

You're not alone - most 6th gen mustangs have some level of paint issues.
The hilarious part is I remember reading some promotional article on the Flat Rock, MI plant, where these Mustangs are built - they touted improvements in the paint shop, and "ostrich feather" rollers that are supposed to pick up any last bits of debris on the body-in-white before it goes to paint. Seems like it didn't do much lol!
