Hi everyone, bought a used 2022 mustang ecoboost, with an aftermarket Shelby gt hood. The flutter is real.

I will install seals above the headlights and I also want to stabilize the hood at the mid length, but I can't find the part anywhere.

Can someone please show me which rubber stops fit in the hole marked below, maybe provide part number, link or dimensions?

Thank you very much!

PS - my first post ever here!

Is it "Flutter" where the hood skin flexes in the wind, or does the entire hood bounce like it's not latched all the way down?

You probably can't do much if the hood skin is flexing.

If it's loose on the latch, it could probably be adjusted a little tighter. I don't think there are any rubber bumpers at the locations you identified in your pics.

While I don't have that specific hood, I don't have any bumpers installed in the holes you highlighted. In fact my aftermarket hood doesn't even have those square holes in that specific location.

Because my hood was chafing the diagonal braces directly below that area (even with the OEM hood), I bonded rubber bumpers to the braces. (Look for the stamped Ford logos on each of the braces and that is where I positioned the rubber bumpers.)

I just bought some rubber window seal and placed on top of the lights an sides of the hood and it was better. I also cut huge vents in the hood lol.

I bought aero catch hood latches as well but havent got around to that yet.

it's the entire hood. Adjusting the hood bump stops helps a little bit, but it's only a temporary solution.

I did install some random pieces of rubber on the holes that I marked in the pictures, and that did help a lot though.

Could you maybe put a screenshot or a photo of what you've done? This sounds like a good solution as it stabilizes the hood! Thanks in advance!

Thanks for the advice, I'll do that, în fact I'm waiting for the seal rubber to arrive, will update you all if it helps.

I was wondering if I should remove the aluminum plate from the middle vent, do you think that would help? In my area there almost zero rain and all my parking spots are covered.

Not knowing the construction of the hood or manufacturer, if it’s fiberglass, I would highly suggest using hood pins in addition to the factory latch. There are discrete hood pins to use, not the old school “pin through the hood with wire cabling”. Not all aftermarket hoods are made to the same quality standards and last thing you need is that hood flying up on you.

I would. My car is always parked inside and even when I do leave it outside or drive it in rain I've never had issues.

This tells me the hood latch needs to be adjusted down a little bit IF the hood appears to sit a little above the bumper, OR if the gaps are good, then it needs some additional rubber spacers if there is no more adjustment left in what's there.

Looks like a fiberglass hood?

It's not. It's sheet metal. I also don't have the diagonal reinforcement pieces, looks like an aftermarket lightweight hood.

I've put D shaped rubber seals on the headlights as well as under the rubber flaps that are on the underside of the hood, to sort of prop them up.

Seems to be working for now, still need to try it at higher speeds.

Some pics attached.

Regards and happy new year to you all
