Honda beats a 5.0?

63 grand for a car that's not any faster or handles any better than a GT. Sounds like a win to me for Toyota err..Honda. Wonder how many of those things they sell a year?

I suppose if you put enough money into it (the Honda) with a good enough driver..And the mustang is mostly stock..

I think this is the key. You can turn a Hyundai into a world beater if you sink enough money into it. LOL

It's an ACTUAL Sport model unlike the Accord and Camry, which are nothing more than overpriced tacky appearance packages :lol:

And you'll pay a LOT more for it too. 1) Upfront with the Price. 2.) Every day with the gas mileage. And 3.) Down the road with maintenance and repairs, including the AWD, ADS and the build-up that Engine will see. It's all relative to price/cost and what a consumer is looking for, and what they prioritize.

Also, there is nothing "tacky" about the Accord Sport, it has very clean and mature styling. And in my eyes looks sleeker and overall better then that fusion.

It's cool that Ford is making that car though. Consumers having options is always a good thing.

Let's look at Honda's V8...that's right there is none. Why do you think that is true? They can't figure out how to build one? Unlikely. They don't use many turbos either. My point is, they don't build a car like your coveted 2017 Fusion because they choose not to build it. Imagine that, and they still sell a lot of cars without having to resort to gimmicks. Their philosophy is different. Don't like it? Don't buy it.

The Fusion Sport's base price isn't much more than a V6 Accord's. Maybe 2,000 apart? If the 2015 Mustang turbo 4 is any indicator for the Fusions MPG, they'll be close as well.

Not sure about cost of maintenance, I don't believe these models have been out long enough to determine that.

So lets compare it to the Accord V6 Sedan which bases at $31,580. Now all of a sudden the Sport Fusion is only 2k more and the Accord isn't even AWD, and has less power and torque. If you add Nav and Honda sensing it's actually more than the Fusion.

Wait maybe we should compare pricing to the base fusion @ $22,610. Now all of a sudden the Ford is 9K less. How in the hell did that happen?

Oh yeah the 12k??:doh: (Actually only $7,525 in real monies $33,475 to $25,900) wasn't actually comparing 2 models of similar content.

Please stop with all the conjecture and opinions.

They are both fine cars. Priced amazing close to each other based on trim level. Buy what you like.

First off, you should actually follow the conversation before quoting and commenting. Fordtechone made the comparison between the Ford, Honda and Toyota "sport" models, specifically. And that's what I was responding to. He was basically saying look at what the Ford's version of a "Sport" model has compared to the Japs. I was simply responding to that by saying well yeah the Fords "Sport" version comes with that but you pay for it. Sorry you can't grasp that simple concept.

Secondly, we were both wrong on the prices. Right on the Honda website the Sport is listed @ $24,265, and on Edmunds.com the Ford Sport is listed @ "from" $34,350, so basically a $10k difference:

it would be better if you could get it in manual transmission

the big question is why does Fusion get the 2.7 EB before Mustang? :shrug:

Nothing wrong with that. No doubt the Fusion is a good deal, I think both cars are. Just a matter of what you are looking for, and what your priorities are.

Well the numbers I came up with were definitely higher. So I looked again and started looking at content as well and realized these were a close match. Where one has a few more electronics (Nav, Hondasense, sunroof) the other has adaptive suspension, Turbos and AWD.

They are both very close in price.



So I realize you want to argue the price of the Accord Sport with the Fusion Sport because the word "Sport" is in both names but as one has an additional 136hp (an additional 72%HP btw) it would be more akin to comparing say an EB Mustang to a GT350 (Actually only an additional 70% HP) if based on power alone.

Since I can't wrap my micro sized brain around the concept of saying car A is bucket loads of cash cheaper than car B when they are not equipped similarly I'll just leave it where it is. Besides it's time for me to stop internetting anyway.:cheers:
